Concerned that the kids may get bored while visiting New York City?  Here’s a list of ways to keep your children entertained.

The New Victory Theater is highly recommended as being the best place for entertainment.  Both children and parents will take pleasure in the incredible shows. Whether it is a crazy circus act or an opera version of well known kid’s movies, The New Victory Theater puts on shows that will have your children begging for more.

New York Hall of ScienceFor an educational outing, the New York Hall of Science is a favorite place among both children and adults.  With more than 450 interactive exhibits, your kids will never get bored.  There will be an opportunity to learn about everything from atoms and molecules to space rockets.  The museum makes the laws of physics interesting by using a surfboard in the Sports Challenge exhibit or playing a round of mini golf at the Rocket Park course.

The infamous Staten Island Zoo, without a doubt, is sure to be on everyone’s favorites list.  Enjoying the free ride on the Staten Island Ferry to get to the zoo is an adventure in itself.  This zoo is great for little kids and for seeing animals up close and personal.  The main attractions include the farmyard, petting zoo, African Savannah, tropical forest and aquarium.  The acclaimed reptile wing houses are impressive collection of species; however, you may want to stay clear if you’re not a fan of reptiles.

Designed by the world-renowned architect, David Rockwell, the Imagination Playground gives kids a chance to be the builder.  While traditional playgrounds have fixed equipment such as slides and swings, this playground is an interactive place where kids play with loose parts, such as giant foam blocks, wagons, crates and fabric.  No need to worry about being a referee amongst the children, a Playground Associate is on hand to facilitate.  There is also a sand box at one end and a water pond (during the warmer months) so without a doubt, this is a place you could spend more than a day enjoying.

Last but not least, as seen on TLC's TV reality series Cake Boss, Carlo's City Hall Bake Shopattracts families who come for the imaginative decorated cakes, baked fresh every morning without artificial flavorings or preservatives so no worries about allergies there.  You’re sure to get some quiet time while enjoying their yummy treats.
