For cloud operating Open Stack kwon as the best platform to work on, this not even controls storage but also it is a wide pool of compute and networking. OpenStack works with popular enterprise and open source techniques making it ideal for heterogeneous infrastructure.

Most of world’s largest brands rely on OpenStack to run their businesses every day. This is not only reducing costs but also helping them move faster. OpenStack has a strong ecosystem and users seeking commercial support can choose OpenStack-powered products and services in the marketplace.

OpenStack is a key component in Inspur’s InCloud OS:

Inspur has released its Cloud Operating System (OS) In-Cloud V4.0 based on OpenStack. InCloudOS provides flexibility of doing business. By integrating OpenStack as one of the core stacks, InCloudOS delivers all the benefits of open source software, embracing OpenStack’s mission of producing the Open Source Cloud Computing platform that will meet the needs of public and private clouds.

How is OpenStack used in a cloud environment?

Cloud provides computing to its end users in a remote environment; through this the actual software runs as a service on scalable and reliable servers. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) with OpenStack for its smooth functioning and its providing suppor tot end users to quickly add new instance, upon which other cloud components can run.

Components of OpenStack:

By collecting various different moving parts the Open Stack is made. Anyone can add components to Open Stack to meet their needs. OpenStack community has identified nine key components that are a part of the "core" of OpenStack. Here are those keys:

Nova is the main computing engine behind OpenStack. For managing large numbers of virtual machines this is really helpful.

Swift is a storage system for objects and files. Open stack decide here where to keep and store the files.

Cinder is a block storage element; it directs the access to specific locations on a disk drive.

Neutron facilitates the networking capability for OpenStack. It ensures each components of an OpenStack deployment can communicate with another quickly, effectively and efficiently.

Horizon is the dashboard behind the OpenStack.

Keystone provides the services for OpenStack. It is a main central list for all the users of the OpenStack cloud.

Glance gives image services to OpenStack. Through this images refers to images (or virtual copies) of hard disks.

Ceilometer helps in providing the telemetry services, and this is allowing the cloud to provide billing services to individual users of the cloud.

Heat is the orchestration part of OpenStack, this allows developers to store the requirements of a cloud application in a file and this is defines that resources are necessary for the application.

Demand for OpenStack is increasing rapidly. Open Stack can impact just about every aspect of an IT infrastructure, including storage. OpenStack help companies to achieve better scalability, economy and flexibility. Open Stack is influencing other storage buying decisions
