10 things to remember before you depart for your Liverpool Airport Parking space
Posted: Jul 12, 2016
If you are travelling to your dream summer destination via Liverpool airport, then be aware you are about to enter one of the busiest airports in the UK when it comes to summer, which means expect delays, standing in long queues and expect to see at least one desperate person trying to explain why they need to take their 500ml bottle of water on board as a matter of life and death. Because the users of the cheapest airport parking service are the best, we here at Care Free Parking have consulted with Liverpool airport parking to create you a list of ten things not to forget when packing.
Make your own List
Because I don’t really know who’s reading this, and therefore can’t 100% guarantee this list will be complete for you, my first recommendation is to create a list, one that’s specific to you, one that lists the essentials, desirables and the ‘only if there’s space’ items. I’d print out this one and then add your own, I mean it pays to be prepared.
Liquids
The second thing, which I have already mentioned, MEASURE YOUR LIQUIDS. As much as we may all hate the fact we can’t take our own water on board, these rules are there for a reason, and no amount of arguing with the security guards is going to overrule this law. 100ml or less, by which I mean the container, you can’t put 99ml in a 500ml bottle, it’s the container size that’s the issue, remember that.
Identification
I’ve lost my luggage once, when I didn’t want to put any identification on it because I thought it was an easier way of getting it stolen, nope I was wrong. Always identify your luggage, I have personalised straps with my name on them, other people I know use yellow duct tape, just make them stand out or you may lose your luggage.
Space
Under pack, you are not going to need that fourth pair of six inch black heels, you are not going to need 12 pairs of jeans, and you most certainly are not going to need that evening gown in the middle of the Sahara. Leave space in your suitcase, that way you’ve got room to bring stuff back with you, like souvenirs or maybe some new clothes you bought. But remember to pack the luggage scales you’ve bought, this way you can measure the luggage before you have to come back.
Make-up
Leave the make-up at home, this may be difficult for some people, but let me tell you from personal experience, the make-up you wear here in England will not work in somewhere hot, it will melt off you and leave you with some pretty bad skin, instead wait until you get there and buy a bb cream instead of foundation, wait to see whether you can cope with the hot climate or not, and ask a local about good brands they sell in the area.
Valuables
As someone who’s job heavily relies on the internet and therefore on computers, I have in total two phones, two tablets, a mac and a windows laptop, and on holidays I have an iPod, these all come with me on holiday, my partner looks after one of the laptops in his carry on, I have the rest in mine. As well as cameras, jewellery, and anything else that I consider valuable. It may be rare to lose your luggage these days but it’s not worth losing your valuables.
Weather
You are honestly a fool if in the 21st century you plan on going on holiday and not checking the weather in advance. The day before you fly, check the weather forecast for your destination, otherwise it’s entirely your own fault when you get off the plane, expecting sun and instead you’re stuck in a monsoon.
Prepare
Pack one outfit in your carry on, this is just in case when you touch down your luggage hasn’t, this way you’ll at least be able to change out of your cabin clothes and feel fresher, this is ESSENTIAL if you are travelling long haul, because you may not know it, but you will smell.
Clothes
Just because you can wear your poli-blend black cardigan in the British summer sun shine, that does not mean you are safe in another country. It’s a completely different kind of heat, and will leave you feeling sticky and clammy, invest in light coloured, flannel or cotton base clothes. I mean this, I got sunstroke once it was the worst couple days of my life.
Officials
Check what you plan to bring with you against the British airways list of prohibited items which can be found here (http://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/baggage-essentials/liquids-and-restrictions)
