Why Are Security Guards Beneficial for a Gated Community?

All things man made are able to be surpassed by man--it's common sense, really. While some inventions, like those that handle security, are great deterrents, they only temporarily complicate tasks for the determined criminal. Gated communities, for example, are very private in nature and are also deemed fairly safe. However, the gates that protect the residents behind them are small measures for those who are eager to get inside. Many ways exist that make these gates passable, and they are unsettlingly easy, too. All of these factors contribute to one very reasonable solution: Incorporate a security guard.

An Extra Deterrent

Someone desperate enough to enter a gated community uninvited will see a gate and scheme on how to climb it or get passed it. Again, gates are not cages, and are easily able to be climbed. Those who see a security guard, however, will realize that their efforts are not worth it.

Where Cameras Fail...

Most gated communities are also equipped with security cameras. What if that camera were to fail, though? An implemented security guard would immediately take its place. Also and contrary to popular belief, cameras do miss a lot of crucial film. Where the camera fails, an excellent eye-witness (security guard) succeeds.

An Increased Filter

Those invited to a gated community are able to be buzzed through the gates. What if an unsuspecting visitor was savvy to that, though, and decided to trail behind that warranted visitor? This clearly foreshadows an unsafe and suspicious situation that would be uneasily detected or prevented. A security guard outside the gate is able to let one person in at a time, thus resulting in a safe and continuously private environment.

Keeping the Peace

Gated communities are rarely soundproof, so those deciding to be a nuisance are easily able to stand outside of the gate and be obnoxious. Of course, those inside can call the authorities, but those fortunate enough to live in gated communities should be free of burdens such as that. Security guards are able to not only handle the problem, but can often prevent it from happening in the first place. Even the most eager burden will think twice when they see a guard on duty who is willing to execute his tasks professionally and timely.

A Sense of Customer Service

Imagine there is a surprise visit from a family member you have not seen in a long time, but you are not home to let them through the gate. Though they attempt to reach you, your work day proves to be too busy, and you miss all of their attempts. Adding security guards to gated communities holds the potential for convenient lists to be in place for anybody that you would allow inside. So, in a sense, this guard is providing a form of customer service.
