Posted: Jun 25, 2016
Breath taking Corbett National Park has the prestigious tag of being India's first National Park. It is cradled in the foothills of the Himalayas, in an area of 520 sq. kms.The park is just 60 km away from Nainitaland is situated in Ramnagar in the District of Nainital, Uttarakhand. Aptly called the land of roar, trumpet and songs and set on the banks of the mighty Ram Ganga river is Dhikala, the main tourist attraction in the world famous and India's first national Park, Jim Corbett. One can sit in solitude for hours admiring the nature and the river or can go for jeep safari in Jim Corbett Park for alife thrilling encounter with the Lord of the Jungle, Tiger. The 525 sq.km of forests and more than 500 species of animals, birds, fishes and reptiles provide a range of adventure to all.
I remember going to Jim Corbett National Park last year when my aunt gifted me this Jim Corbett tour package as an anniversary gift. The package was for two nights and 3 days and included complimentary welcome drink on arrival; buffet meals for two in a restaurant; fruit basket and tea / coffee maker in the room; guided nature walk; romantic candle light dinner with recorded music; pistabadam milk and almonds at night; evening bonfire at riverside lawn with light music; evening activities: tambala, musical chair, dinner at river edge; wildlife movie slide show; surprise gift on departure; and complimentary cake, once during the stay. It was my first trip to any national park and I thoroughly enjoyed it with my husband.
However, as we were anyways in Nainital, I planned to explore few more things there. For instance, Nainital is also known as the "Lake District of India" because of nine different lakes in this area. If you are here in Nainital, you must visit Mukteshwar, which has evergreen vistas of exquisite beauty and the sapphire of encircling hill blend with deep blue cloudless skies. All this has a charm of its own against the background of great Himalayan peaks glittering in the distance. Mukteshwar is surrounded by beautiful and dense reserve forest of Deodar, Banj, Kharsu, Tilonj, Kafal, Pine, Utis and Mehal. You can check all such details with the help of your travel agent who will not only inform you but will also make all your travel, stay and food arrangements easily.
