Muktinath Yatra is religious destination of salvation

Muktinath is a sacred place of Hindus and Buddhists located in the Muktinath valley at Thorong La mountain paas in Mustang, Nepal. It is a divine place for the devotees of two religions. It’s a great example of harmony where two religions share the same place of worship. This shrine is dedicated to the divinity of lord where the souls get liberation or moksha. According to Vaishnava sect, this place is 105th place among the 108 Divyadesham. The central shrine of Muktinath is considered most sacred shrines of the Hindu Vaishnavas. This oldest temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu which people have been worshipping for years. The temple of Lord Vishnu is small but the statue of Lord Vishnu is tall enough that is equal to the height of a man and it is made of gold metal. As per Vaishnavas, Svayam vyekta kshetras is the most sacred shrine of Muktinath. Apart from this eighth shrine of Muktinath, some other shrines are Srirangam, Srimushnam, Tirupati, Thotadri, Pushkar, Badrinath and Naimisharanya.

The temple Muktinath is considered as Shakti Peetha for a yatra which is sacred destination for the devotees of Hindu and Buddhists. These Peethas are abodes of Shakti which formed to the falling body parts of Sati Devi. Lord Shiva carried the body and wandered and the 51 Shakti Peethas are revered by Shaktism. Each Shakti Peetha has a Shakti shrine and a Bhairava shrine in the temple. The Shakti shrine of Muktinath is known as Gandaki Chandi and Bhairava as Chakrapani. At this Shakti Peetha is said that Sati Devi forehead had fallen here. With all these beliefs and devotions, Muktinath Yatra has become one of the most visited destinations by the devotees. This temple has been classified as the center of achieving Moksha for the Hindus and Buddhists. The name Muktinath is a Sanskrit word which is a combination of two words called Mukti and Nath. Mukti means moksha and Nath means God therefore it symbolizes achievement of moksha and the soul is free from the cycle of rebirth andbirth.This shrine holds a great significance of holy shrine which two religions of the world hold together and support same belief. Thousands of devotees from Tibet, Nepal and India travel to Muktinath to achieve salvation form this holy shrine.

According to Hinduism, this world is an illusion and the earliest ones get out of better with Muktinath yatra. Those who visit to the Muktinath yatra get salvation and devotees have been going to this shrine to achieve this. This shrine is located in a grove of trees that includes a Buddhist Gompa and pagoda style of templewith a statue of Lord Vishnu. This holy shrine is also called as Muktikshetra by the Hindus. The Shaligrams found here are considered pious by the Hindus which are incarnation of Vishnu and people worship here. According to myths, Vishnu turned into Shaligrams because of Brinda’s curse. Similarly, this place is called Chumig Gyatsa by the Buddhists. The Buddhist guru Rampoche meditated here and gained spiritual knowledge on way to Tibet in 12th century.
