Gods own country- Kerala, is home to several fine beaches that make for ideal beach honeymoon tour destination for newlyweds. The beaches of Kerala are lined with clean sandy shores, rocky outcrops, swaying coconut palms, friendly hawkers and locals and a tranquil surrounding. Some of the niche beaches that should be visited by honeymooners are:

Kovalam Beach: Having earned worldwide fame Kovalam attracts a mass number of international tourists including a fair number of domestic crowds. After all it’s the shallow waters and picturesque surrounding that contribute to its growing popularity. The three crescent shaped beaches are a prime attraction in Kovalam. For honeymooners to simply laze around and enjoy the sea and the breathtaking sunset view is an experience that will want you to revisit Kovalam.

  1. Shankhumugham: Another popular beach that is ideal for honeymooners to visit is the Shankhumugham beach. The beach has an indoor recreational club. You will find a giant sculpture of a mermaid that’s very aptly set in the area. There is a star shaped restaurant that adds to the theme. In close vicinity there is a traffic training park for children. For more entertainment there are also two picnic spots- Akkulam and Veli tourist village.
  2. Chowara: Located at about eight kilometer distance is Chowara beach. Supposedly a fishing hamlet this beach has a long stretch of clean white sandy beach.
  3. Poovar: A spectacular looking beach the Poovar beach is located very close to Neyyar river estuary. The beach is least infested by general crowd hence it’s an ideal beach for newlyweds to enjoy their privacy. The beach has earned a lot of attention and is climbing the chart of fame gradually.
  4. Papanasham: located at a distance of forty five kilometer the Papanasham beach is situated in Varkala. The beach is believed to cleanse you of your sins after you take a dip in it. The beach has red laterite cliffs. There are mineral springs in the vicinity and the backwaters add to its beauty. For added attraction honeymooners can visit the hundred year old tunnel and a nature cure center.
  5. Thirumullavaram: For a romantic picnic honeymooners should head to Thirumullavaram beach located at a six kilometer distance from Kollam.
  6. Alleppey Beach: Known for its 137 year old pier which extends into the sea, the Alleppey beach is a sheer delight to be at for honeymooners. The lighthouse in the vicinity is an added attraction.
  7. Fort Kochi beach: Located at adistance of twenty one kilometer from Ernakulum, overlooking the Arabian Sea is the fort Kochi beach. Besides finding the legendary Chinese fishing nets still in use, the beach is known for its spectacular sunset view.

Kozhikode beach: Possessing an old world charm about its presence, the Kozhikode beach equally offers a beautiful sunset view. The two crumbling piers in the vicinity and the ancient lighthouse add to its old world charm.

Beypore beach: Located at a ten kilometer distance from Kozhikode, the Beypore beach is a prominent beach known for its prominent maritime trading center. The boat building yard here is famous for the construction of the uru’s – a boat building tradition that is almost fifteen year old.
