Seoul Global Startup Center opens a new Incubation Program.

Do you have brilliant ideas or solutions about integrating lives, passion and or technology? Chances are you don’t know where to begin or how to take ideation to the next level. But if you know the why or the driving force behind it all, then the how and what should follow. Easier said than done, but the Seoul Global Startup Center helps you make your way through the seemingly confusing maze of issues. The Center provides the valuable incubation needed for your startup, or to further develop your idea into reality.

Why Seoul Global Startup Center?

First, it is strategically located in the digital centre of Seoul, Yongsan, it is free, and it includes equity free seed investment. It is even open 24/7, so you can fast-track your success. With Yongsan being the Hardware hub of Seoul, you will naturally have access to a top notch makerspace (3D printers, prototyping labs, etc). Aside from all these advantages, the Seoul Global Startup Center is the go-to place for advice, with periodic workshops and educational seminars from outside field experts like pitch training, marketing & communication, branding, design thinking and product development.

Seoul GSC saves you the time and effort of looking for resources by bringing the local network to you and your team. Startups are able to access numerous partnerships and clients of the city of Seoul, as well as through the private enterprise Rehoboth. To help you excel faster in your industry, Seoul GSC’s network will also bring in outside experts, facilitate consultations with the experts to meet with your startup team and receive direct feedback from them. After developing your startup further, Seoul GSC will set up a Demo Day and invite investors for you to present your ideas and attract funding.

But there’s even more! The Seoul GSC is not just about handing out advice; it will also equip you with 10 million won seed funding within 60 days of entering the center with. An additional 5 million won funding will be given to 12 selected teams, so that you can really get the head start you need. In addition, you will have the exciting prospect of traveling overseas; Vietnam or China.

How to be part of the Seoul GSC’s program?

Register your Idea or business at Seoul's GSC website directly. The registration process ends on July 29th, 2016. Everyone with a global outlook is invited to apply, and Seoul GSC really means everyone: Foreigners in Korea, a team with at least one foreigner, or global oriented Korean startups. Seoul GSC is looking for good ideas and business models in all sectors that are sustainable. It welcomes all ideas to the centre, with the belief that innovative companies are not limited to technology-based startups. No particular industry is favored.

A business plan is not required. All the information from your application, as well as an in-person presentation and interview, will be enough to understand you and your business. The Seoul Global Startup Center in Yongsan, Seoul, is looking for teams and people at various stages of development. If you have a good idea, Seoul GSC can help take care of setting up the registration and finer details.

Applicants will go through a selection process with the following steps :

  1. Application screening based on business proposal ideas.

  2. Presentation evaluation and shortlisting.

  3. In person Interview.

  4. Get selected and start your path to success.

Qualified Startups will join the program from August 1 - December 31, a 5 month Incubation program with the promised benefits. Startups who successfully complete the 2016 program may be invited to re-apply and renew their membership to participate in the 1st program in 2017.
