Udaipur was the capital of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar, ruled by Ranawats of the Sisodia tribe. The promoter of Udaipur was Rana Udai Singh. The antiquated capital of Mewar was Chittor or Chittorgarh, situated on the Banas River upper east of Udaipur. Udai Singh set up a living arrangement there. In 1568 the Mughal head Akbar caught Chittor, and Udai Singh moved the money to the site of his habitation, which turned into the city of Udaipur. There are located many sightseeing places to visit in udaipur i.e.:

Jag Mandir:

Another island in the Lake Pichola, which is known for its patio nursery yard. Shah-Jahan took asylum here while rebelling against his dad.

Sajjangarh Fort:

Jagdish Temple:
