Puerto Banús is a luxury marina destination located on the Costa del Sol, southwest of Marbella, Spain, which attracts the rich and famous, celebs and royalty, as well as the simply fabulous! With its beginnings as an old Spanish fishing town with a beautiful mountainous backdrop, the Puerto Banús of today is a result of what was designed and built in 1970 by local property developer José Banús.

Today the town attracts tourists from all over the world seeking extravagance and opulence. Luxury hotels, designer-brand shopping, beautiful beach clubs, high-end restaurants and a vibrant nightlife – this place has it all.

Accommodations

Luxury, four-star accommodations are not hard to find in Puerto Banús. For instance, the Melia Marbella Banús, known for its fabulous three pools, attentive staff and location right on the beach is a popular choice. Guests of the Melia have access to the spa area, including a sauna, Turkish bath and hot tub. The H10 Andalucia Plaza is another choice hotel, as an adults-only property surrounded by palm trees and known for its friendly staff, excellent location and good food. It is within walking distance to the beach and features modern decorum and art, with some rooms overlooking the pool.

Beach Clubs

Spend your days on a beach lounger, drinking fruity cocktails under the shade of an umbrella, for the ultimate in relaxation. Listen to the beats of a DJ spinning tunes in the background as you take a dip in a saltwater pool, book a massage, order a delicious seafood lunch, read a favourite book or people watch all day from your place on deck. The Ocean Club and La Sala by the Sea Beach Club are a couple of fabulous beach clubs you are going to want to experience during your stay.

Fine Dining

Book a table at El Gran Gatsby for the views alone, and savour the tuna carpaccio, crispy prawns or sea bass, caught fresh from the sea. Plan to eat dinner late, as patrons have access to their nightclub, Club Pangea following dinner. If it’s steak you’re craving, a visit to Los Bandidos will not disappoint. Located on the harbour, this Argentinean steak house offers quality beef, outstanding service and an enjoyable atmosphere.

Shopping

There is no lack of shopping opportunities, with designer labels such as Dior, Versace and Louis Vuitton available, as well as the famous El Corte Inglés department store, Cristamar and Marina Banús shopping centres.

Nightlife

After a day of shopping you may be ready for a night out on the town! Puerto Banús comes alive at night as tourists dress up in fancy clothing and high heels and go out for a night of dinner, dancing, and sometimes the odd celebrity sighting. Most of the bars and night clubs are located along Calle Ribera and along the second line.
