Read it to build a successful mobile app
Posted: Aug 08, 2016
As of Statista.com analyses, there were 2 million iOS apps available on the App Store in June 2016. Also since its launch, the store has received an estimate downloads of 130 billion apps from iOS devices like iPhone and iPad. Thousands of new apps are added every day. Of course the growing popularity of apps have influenced all, be it an individual or a business person.
Business world is looking great possibilities in mobile application development. It’s showing interest in apps regardless of their sorts or sizes. Of course, business-owners have several questions such as do they also need to create an app and how to create it in low budget.
No matter what business you are engaged in because what matters the most is – do you have a mobile app? A restaurant with empty tables, a doctor with no idea of next day appointments, and a comedy promoter with unsold tickets certainly need apps. And on the flip side, many people aren’t aware of what technology has already brought at their doorsteps – sales, discounts, ticket-booking are just a few taps aware.
But as I mentioned above, we already have more than 2 million apps available on the App Store. So do we need more? Yes we do.
We need more apps because not all the apps available are as great as users can use them for long period of time. There is requirement of building something that people really want to use. A lot of apps available at the App Store are needlessly complex.
While building an app, it’s recommended that the developer should start with the most basic features, and test them again and again before adding to an app. If the app involves transactions, the customer should be able to reach the buy button without any distraction.
You can also build analytics tools within an app to easily track the behavior and engagement of users. This will help you keep an eye on where users are getting stuck so that you can make improvements there. The menu must be visible at all times and a great example of it can be found on Facebook app. If you don’t have enough funds to invest in discovering great UX/ UI, big social apps like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can be proved as the best inspirations.
Making a great app is really difficult. An average user may have 60 apps on his/her phone. Among all of them, ten are used frequently and among these 10, three are used on regular basis. This draws a clear map of the entire landscape of mobile app industry. Here, only different apps can make a difference. Rest seems to present there just for making the big numbers.
