How to Plan Your Jim Corbett Tour?

Jim Corbett is considered to be one of the best national parks in India. Whether you are someone who loves the wildlife passionately or someone who wants to admire the nature in peace, it is highly recommended that you do the homework with research before going to a new place. If you have never been to Jim Corbett or if your last experience was not exactly very great, you would want to make sure that the next trip is incredible. By Air: There are no airports close to Jim Corbett. The closest airport (both national and international) is in Delhi. Jim Corbett is nearly 250 km from the capital city.
By Train: Jim Corbett National Park is very close to the Ramnagar City. Ramnagar is nearly 85 km from Jim Corbett and is quite well connected with other cities by rail route as well as by road. Train is a great option for those who do not have much time. There run directly between Ramnagar and Delhi every day. You could also catch a train in the night and reach Ramnagar early in the morning. Many people take one-day tour by train.
By Road: If you plan to take the public transport, there are busses running from the major bus stations of Delhi to Ramnagar. There are buses from Haldwani and Moradabad as well to Ramnagar. If you have your own vehicle it is a 250 km drive from Delhi to Jim Corbett National Park. However, if you are coming from eastern part of the country you will find that Ramnagar is well connected to places like Nainital, Lucknow, and Dehradun.
Know more about the safaris
There are many different places to explore in the National Park. Therefore, it is best to tour the place at least for 2-3 days. One can take the safari tour during the time allotted by the authorities. There are different timings for different zones. In most of the cases the park opens from 05:30 – 10:00AM and 02:00-06:00 PM. However, the timings may vary depending upon the season and the weather conditions. If you are planning the Jim Corbett tour it is best to call up the authorities and inquire about the safari timings in advance.
Zones and gates
There are 4 tourism zones and 4 entry gates. Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Domunda are the tourism zones with Dhangari, Amadanda, Jhirna Gate, and Durgadevi Gate respectively as the entry gates. If you want to explore the interiors well, it is best to take the jeep safari.
