1. Hair Lightening Product

Get ready for the fall season with the trendy, post-summer, sun-kissed locks! Hair highlights have been "in" for decades, and the trend is not going down anytime soon. A lot of models and celebrities getting their manes lightened at the best organic hair salons in NYC. However, why to do it and spend a lot of money if you can get the same result using foods in your fridge? Sure, the effect is going to be milder, but with time you can achieve the desired goal. Squeeze several tablespoons of lemon juice (depending on the length of your hair and the needed amount of highlights) and coat the strands. Sit outside for at least an hour while waiting. This step is crucial if you want more noticeable effect. Rinse out with cool water. Do not overuse this trick, though, or you will dry your locks out.

2. Skin Brightener

If you need to reduce the old acne scars or discolorations on your skin, use lemon juice on the offending area. Due to the vitamin C and citric acid, lemons are extremely useful for your epidermis if utilized correctly. Make sure to use a stronger sunscreen every time you use this method to avoid causing damage to the skin. You can also rub lemon juice on the rougher and darker areas on your body – e.g. knees and elbows. The acid will soften the surface as well as bleach it. Try to use it on the smaller area first to check whether you have an allergy reaction to it or not. If you skin starts to itch or burn, appear red, irritated, or blotchy, rinse immediately and do not use again!

3. Acne Treatment

Apart from being able to diminish the old acne scarring, lemon juice can be also helpful when dealing with fresh pimples. Dab a small amount of the product on the red spots and leave it on. The juice will dry out the breakouts, reducing their appearance and taking away some of the redness. Repeat this step every day until the offending spot is completely gone. Once again, try out this trick on your wrist first. If your skin is particularly sensitive, this trick might not be for you.

4. Teeth Whitener

You can also try to use lemon juice to brighten your pearly whites once in awhile. It is somewhat effective, sure, although, we would not recommend turning to this method too often. The acid can wear down your enamel and cause excessive sensitivity. Talk to your dentist before trying to utilize this little DIY teeth whitener at home.
