Posted: Sep 09, 2016
Bodybuilding is the latest fad catching teenagers. Impressed by others’ muscles, they decide to take the plunge but often confused on most aspects. Here, we explain in simple terms what their fellow buildings talk in a gym and what essentials they hide.
This text will help beginners on how to go about bodybuilding and how they can get on track quickly.
Why every body builder talks about Whey Powder and Protein Supplements?
Every body builder tries to grow muscles and needs extra protein. This "extra protein" can only be obtained either from Whey Powder or a Protein Supplement. Everybody’s needs are different and most bodybuilders, but naturally, talk about this everywhere.
Whey Powders and Protein Supplements are available in different flavours, like chocolate, vanilla, colours like orange, yellow to suit individual tastes and also with various other additional nutrients. It is but natural to exchange notes on how one product tastes better or works better and that is also one of the reasons for this frequent talk.
Can Protein be only had from Powders and not from Regular Food items?
Of course, one can get protein from Egg Whites. But one can never be sure of the percentage these whites contain. A small variation is acceptable but in the long run it may not prove beneficial. Hence it is better to stick to measured doses from the Scoops available within every bottle of Protein Supplement.
Where do you consume Protein Supplement, before, in-between or post workouts?
It depends on your body needs. Generally people take their supplements 30-60 minutes prior to their workouts allowing their bodies to digest and provide the energy when needed. However, many also have some after their workouts too. You need to assess and then feed your body as required.
Why everyone mentions of Whey Powder? What’s so special about it?
Whey comes from milk, the best known source. Moreover, it is available as a concentrate, isolate and hydrolyzed forms depending whether you need the extra nutrients milk contains. Initially your body will accept a concentrate but as needs increasee you can always try the isolate type.
Is Protein Supplement the only extra we need when indulged in Body Building or Muscle Building?
No. There are others too. They are equally important for everyone and missing anyone could be disastrous. Focus on this list, and ensure you pay equal importance to all:
1. Water
Most of the muscles are water. You need plenty of water, at least 12-15 glasses of water per day and you should drink between exercises, giving plenty of gap between drinking and exercising.
2. Sleep
Your body needs rest so as to rebuild all the muscles and provide strength to other ligaments. At least 8 hour sleep is needed per day.
3. Adequate rest between workouts
Initially when starting, giving adequate rest between sessions helps you ease the tension. Ignoring this can get you serious cramps.
4. One Day Off
Give your body a weekly off. Go for a walk, do some running, jumping etc. but only lightly. Do whatever you don’t do daily. Your body will feel light and enjoy.
Lastly, observe discipline in whatever you do. With these tips you surely will achieve your goal within no time. Good luck.
