If you're a wildlife enthusiast who enjoys spotting captivating animals in their natural habitat, then you will instantly fall in love with the Ranthambhore National Park. Located on the eastern side of Rajasthan, Ranthambhore National Park is one of the largest and most visited national parks in India. It is spread over an area of around 400 KmĀ² amidst scenic Aravalli Range with Banas & Chambal rivers passing through its northern and southern ends respectively. This favourable ecosystem makes it home to different types of mammal species of which tigers happen to be the most popular.

Ranthambhore became a tiger reserve in 1973-74 and consequently a national park in 1980. The reason it is known for its gripping tiger safaris is that the tourists can frequently spot tigers in their natural habitat even during the daytime. According to different estimates, there could be around 40-60 tigers in the national park that increase the chances of spotting them. Other than the mighty tigers, there are many other riveting animals in this national park such as leopards, foxes, deer (chital), boars, nilgai, sloth bear, langur, etc. Birdwatching is also fun here as there are upwards of 270 bird species in the area.

It's important to mention here that Ranthambhore National Park is open to tourists from 1st October to 30th June as the monsoon season (July-September) is not conducive for the tiger safaris. Also, the best time to visit this national park is in October (or, early November) when the weather is pleasant throughout the day and night. Every day there are two trips to the various places within the park: morning trip (for three and a half hours, starting at 6-7 am in the morning) and evening trip (for three and a half hours, starting between 2 pm and 3.30 pm). If you're planning to visit this national park between November and early February, then don't forget to wear several layers of clothing as it can get quite chilly.

The most famous place within the Ranthambhore Park is an awe-inspiring 10th century fort known as Ranthambhore Fort. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has several beautiful buildings including two famous temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha (Trinetra Ganesha Temple) and Lord Shiva (it's located underground). Apart from the mesmerising Ranthambhore National Park, our Royal Rajasthan Indian tour package also takes our guests to famous tourists destinations in Delhi, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Pushkar, Jaipur, & Agra.

Ranthambhore national park is situated in a picturesque setting and it is renowned for its tiger safaris. Ranthambhore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a famous tourist attraction situated within the national park. View more here: goo.gl/coQJ9p
