Safari VacationsAfrican safaris are fantastic vacations but they tend to be tad more expensive than any other trip. The costs can be deterring but there are various schemes that are on offer. The only consideration to make is that they must coincide with the duration of your journey. There are discounts on airfares to African safari destinations, and then there are rebates in the lodging charges as well as on the safari charges from time to time. With a little bit of attentiveness it is possible to club discounts for these components of a tour.

Some of the more regular safari hot spots are the Serengeti in Tanzania, the Victoria Falls in Botswana, and a balloon ride in Kenya etc.  International carriers announce the deals on these sectors on a regular basis. The tourism spots are many and the discounts even more to suit individual tastes and budgets.

Accommodation is not a big problem in these tourist spots; they range from the super luxurious to the very basic ones. Camping facilities are also available at these tourist destinations. They can cater to all kinds of guests at all budget ranges. In addition, they invariably run schemes to attract more guests to their hotels. The quality of services is commendable at these hotels and African hospitality is at its best in all the hotels in these major international favorite jaunts.

Safari charges are pretty high but there are times that there is a 25-60% rebate in these charges. These are hefty discounts and bring down the safari costs substantially. The world famous African sites also have facilities for self drive holiday makers. There are good parking lots and a few mechanics and attendants that will help make the vehicle ready for some more miles on the dusty roads.

Cars can be hired from all major cities in Africa for a road trip. These are mostly done over the net and one can compare prices to find the best deals. They also recommend the car type to be chosen for each different area of travel. Some areas may only support a hard core four by four wheel drive. Some others may not require them exclusively, and then the choice of the vehicle becomes a lot easier.
