From Rides to Parks: Discover the Fun Side of Les Menuires

When you’re skiing in Les Menuires with the whole family, there’s plenty of laughter and challenges to be had at the resort’s dedicated fun zones. These are 6 of my personal favourites.

1. Roc ‘n Bob Toboggan Run

This 4km toboggan run includes different areas, each of which throws up different fun-filled challenges. Cruise your way down the long turns of the ‘Roc Rapids’ before swinging through the short turns of the ‘never ending canyon’. Tobogganing has never been so much fun.

2. The Walibi Gliss

Challenge your kids (or yourself!) on the Walibi Gliss blue slalom on the boardercross course. The area has a lively atmosphere with music playing, and even a winner’s podium so you can take a selfie of yourself when you beat your best time.

3. Speed Mountain

There’s more than just skiing in Les Menuires - Speed Mountain is like a bobsleigh on rails! You and your friends sit in the sleigh and then hurtle down the 1000m run, navigating a series of fast paced twists and turns. Fully landscaped, kids will love the Boukty challenges on the way down past stone houses and tree trunks. How much you use the break is up to you, the three check points on the way down will judge your progress and time your ride. Suitable for children from 5 (if accompanied by an adult).

4. Liberty Ride

If you or the kids want to try out powder skiing in Les Menuires without having to venture off piste, then the new Liberty Ride on the Secteur de la Masse will be perfect for you. The piste is left ungroomed so that when the snow falls, anyone can enjoy the fresh powder on the safety of a dedicated run.

5. Mini KL

So you think you’re fast? Well, on the Mini KL you’ll have the chance to prove it. If you’re one of those skiers who feels the ‘need for speed’, then head to the top of the Sunny Express Chairlift and safely time your descent down the Mini KL. Set your own record or challenge the speed of your friends or family on this speed skiing run. Suitable for all levels and from the age of six upwards, this is great fun for the whole family.

6. Le BK Park

Everyone will find something to challenge them in the fun zone of the BK Park. Race your friends over the two boardercross runs or practice your tricks in the bump and rail zones. For beginners there is a blue boardercross piste where you can race or just have fun with the kids. The more serious skiers, however, should head over to the red boardercross and pick up some serious speed over the run’s twists and turns.

Even the most serious skiers will find something in Les Menuires’ ‘fun zones’ to excite them. So if ‘playing’ is not your thing, how about challenging the family to the ultimate skiing showdown over the resorts’ freestyle park’s and boardercross courses?
