Well, Christmas is soon approaching and it is time to deck up the halls in Christmas lights and get in the Christmas spirit. The Christmas Spirit is all about the traditions which light up the Christmas fervour.

Let us take a quick look at making the best of the upcoming holiday season.

  1. Finding the perfect Christmas tree – The idea is get the family and friends together in the old truck and head out on a Christmas tree search. You can choose to wander through the woods or visit a tree lot. But this search will surely get in the mood!
  2. Ringing in the Countdown – You can bypass the usual Christmas advent calendar and do a fun paper strip chain to mark each day until Christmas. You can even chart out some activity around days in line with the Christmas traditions. This will surely build up your excitement in a fun way.
  3. Decorations – Now that you have your tree and the countdown has begun, sit with a cup of hot chocolate and get down to decorating the Christmas tree.   4. Getting crafty – Get together with friends to do special gifts for the family and the neighbourhood. Try something new like handmade cards – to keep up the Christmas tradition.
  5. True Christmas spirit of giving – You can get families of the neighbourhood together to start a Christmas hamper for the community for the benefit of those, you are missing out on hot turkey dinner and holiday gifts due to tough times.
  6. Christmas carols- This tradition fills everyone with Christmas spirit. Get you carol singing group together and visit the under privileged households to spread the Christmas cheer.You can also print out some of the carols and hand these out so that everyone can join in. Take the music to the streets or even to your local radio station! Be adventurous and have everyone join you.
  7. Christmas movie – During your countdown days, perk up the long winter nights with a Christmas movie night. Pick your movie – be it Elf or White Christmas.
  8. Making Christmas ornaments – You can go online and see ideas for Christmas lighting and do it yourself Christmas ornaments. This activity will not only bring in holiday cheer but also bond the family, and imagine the excitement on fids faces to see their ornaments on the Christmas tree! This is a great fun way to get into the holiday spirit.
  9. Visiting Christmas Father – Santa says Christmas like nothing else. Tale your kids and have them sit on Santa’s lap while they pose for the holiday photo op. Take a break from the huge gift shopping list and help your kids build some beautiful memories.
  10. Driving around the neighbourhood to see Christmas lights – Get everybody together and load up the car to drive around and enjoy the beautiful neighbourhood Christmas lighting. Maybe you can get a few decoration ideas for your own home!
