Windows 10 Preview create 14926 causes File Explorer crashes, corrupted text, and more

Posted: Oct 10, 2016
It's that time of a month once more! We've got the new Preview make 14926 for Windows 10, and when a brand new build gets released, reports about various problems just flood Microsoft's forums. That is exactly where we come in, to allow you to know about all important problems reported by actual users, and try to resolve a minimum of a few of them.
Make 14526 was released just one day right after this month's Patch Tuesday, and in contrast to cumulative updates which caused just a single key concern, Windows Insiders weren't so fortunate. Sadly, develop 14526 brought on a lot of complications to customers who've installed it, so let's see what bothers them in this release.
As usual we start off our report with installation and downloading problems. Some customers reported on Microsoft's forums that the build isn't even showing up for them.
"Not able to update my build from 14905 to 14926?-even though i am quick ringer..i'm not having update for it?-.and have not got 14915 update also..14905 is very negative create?-how to update it..whenever i verify for update it says "device as much as date"?-what to accomplish??"
If you're facing this situation, also, you may attempt with resetting Windows Update, or operating the WUReset script. Even so, we cannot guarantee any of those options will function.
A single severe concern, that one particular Insider reported around the forums may be the issue with Windows Explorer. Apparently, Explorer.exe regularly crashes on his Surface Book, leaving the device pretty much impossible to make use of.
"After upgrading my Surface Book from the prior insider construct to 14926 it can be now unusable. Explorer.exe is crashing every single couple of seconds. In event viewer I located this was logged: "Explorer crashing Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnidui.dll". Ironically if I dock the machine and run only on an external monitor explorer quits crashing and I can use it. At this point I'll must only use it in docked mode and wait for an update."
Regrettably, nobody in the forums had a correct solution for this problem. If you're facing this issue, you could check out our post about File Explorer difficulties in Windows 10, but as soon as once more, none from the options presented there is certainly assured to perform.
Create 14926 is really full of strange and unusual difficulties, that Insiders haven't face in prior Preview builds. For a single user, the native technique text is simply not displayed. The entire system just shows icons, and 'empty blocks,' without having any words. Here's what he stated on Microsoft's forums:
"Native Windows text is not displayed, only featureless blocks; this impacts all notifications, all settings windows, the start menu, calculator, pictures app, Edge, along with the Feedback Hub. This issue was introduced in build 14915 and even after updating to 14926.rs_prerelease.160910-1529 it nevertheless affects me. Please address this challenge."
However, this challenge still must be addressed, as we never have a right solution. Some customers are suggesting updating graphics card drivers, but a user who reported this problem hasn't confirmed it performs, but.
And while 'text' may be the only issue missing for some customers, for other customers apps themselves are missing. One particular user complained around the forums that he absolutely lost the Feedback Hub app, immediately after installing the new construct.
"Quick download and install of current create and thought anything went OK-now obtain that the Windows Feedback App is missing. Anybody else? Attempted hunting it in the add-an-app like we had to accomplish inside the previous. Not there either."
Apparently, this can be a uncommon challenge, as it showed up to only one particular user (or no less than he was the only a single to report it) within this create. Perhaps the top probable remedy, if you're also missing the Feedback Hub, should be to simply head over to the Store, and download it when once again, and it really should perform just fine.
In some prior Windows 10 Preview builds, that still counted because the Anniversary Update builds, users encountered troubles with SFC scan. Apparently, even just after releasing the Anniversary Update, and also a few early Redstone 2 Preview builds, this challenge is still present for some users.
Here's what 1 Windows Insider mentioned about this problem on the Neighborhood forums:
"Build 14926 Sfc still stops at 19% and network shares are still absent. I see no difference between this and 915 very same error s. oh nicely back to 905."
Despite the fact that this is becoming a frequent problem in Preview builds, Microsoft nevertheless doesn't appear to resolve it fully. So essentially, the only point users facing this issue can do will be to wait for the new develop, and hope Microsoft will do something more then.
That is about it for the reported troubles on PCs, but as you most likely know, develop 14926 was also pushed to Insiders on Mobile, who also got their share of issues. Apparently, Windows 10 Mobile devices happen to be plagued having a lot of challenges in this make. One user have created some kind of a roundup with challenges for Mobile, like a handful issues that affected his device. Here's what he said:
"My 640 has worked faultlessly through all the updates and was great on make 14915. Soon after updating to 14926 it truly is ruined! When it restarts soon after update it does not ask for sim code because it does not recognise that a sim card is installed. Phone will not be recognised when connecting to recovery tool, by no means an issue just before. WiFi is just not functioning correctly even though it says connected I am unable to sort something in edge to perform a search. The telephone does random reboots! Very Extremely disappointed following each of the time being an insider to have this issue which I can not resolve!"
Truth be told, the majority of the presorted difficulties on Mobile are currently listed by Microsoft, as 'Known troubles,' but you can find also some 'new ones'. The amount of difficulties is indeed massive, and some of them even make it impossible for some users to work with their devices. So, Microsoft would have to do a slightly improved job using the subsequent create, even though it is Insider system, and issues are expected.
That's about it for our report report about difficulties in Windows 10 Preview build 14926. As it is possible to see, there are actually some new difficulties, you'll find some old complications, all in all, just an additional develop with regular quantity of problems.
