The distance between Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar is close to 450 km. The usual modes of transport are flights, trains and buses, for travelling to and fro from the city. If one would like to travel by the water to experience the coastal side of Malaysia, there are ferries available.

A flight is primarily the fastest mean of transport between the 2 cities. It is a 1 hour 10 minutes’ journey between the 2 cities and it does come at a price. This will come in handy for folks who don’t have much time to spend by travelling through roads.

The buses in Malaysia are said to be one of the most cleanest as well as economical here. The time taken to travel between the 2 cities will be around 7.5 hours, but the journey is said to be worth it. The drive along the coastal areas as well as nature delivering at its best just adds up to one of the best road trips ever. Just book tickets online on Redbus and have a blissful journey.

Another option could be by taking the train. It takes around 6 hours and is moderately priced. But this is one of the least suggested options to travel between the 2 cities.

Malacca, an old town, the capital of Portuguese colonisers and cultural center of Malaysia, is known for its old Catholic churches, lovely river tours, old mill and Chinese restaurants.
