Localization vs. haircut trend
Posted: Oct 18, 2016
Have you ever wondered about how your region affects the haircut trend in your local area? It is not an obvious fact due to the aftermaths of the global society, but we can still see a difference between mens hair NYC and men’s haircuts in Europe, as an example. Let’s investigate what factors distinguish the types of haircuts.
1. Climate is still a reason
It was more about protecting our head from sun rays and chill back in the day. We got out of our caves a long time ago, but the reasons have also changed. The climate now affects our wardrobe. And depending on what clothes we wear, we also take into account that our haircut should suit the full image.
2. What about the region itself?
Any area with suitable living conditions for a human being provides supplies of a particular kind. The same remains with our diet and overall nutrition. The food we eat influences our health condition and, therefore, our hair. The world is interconnected with trading communications, but it is still cheaper to use resources which are located nearby. The fabric of our clothes also depends on what can we obtain from our environment.
3. Genes and haircut
What comes out of the region and climate, these two factors strongly affected the evolution of isolated races in the past. And the consequence is that we all have different hair types. As an example, a flat-top will work for all men, but on the other hand, not all men can grow straight long hair and a gorgeous beard. Black people mostly have curly hair, while white people have a variety of the hair types because the locations white people lived have different living conditions. It is a bit unfair, and there is nothing we can do about it. What an irony, nature is racist. Nowadays, in a blended society like the American one, we can see more variety and mixed hairstyles just because there are more different people out there. Asian and European countries are more conservative than the American one, and the society is less blended. However, the result of globalization and cultural appropriation is that we use to share the fashion and traditions. Maybe fashion is going to become absolutely global in the nearest decades, but who knows for sure.
Don’t judge the nature if you can’t have a certain hairstyle. Use all the advantages of the type of your hair and see what you can get to look great.
