Posted: Oct 22, 2016
Xiaomi is reportedly working on the successor to last year’s Mi Note smartphone. Mi Note 2 will be the next achievment for Xiaomi in 2016. Xiaomi has scheduled a launching date on Oct 24, 2016 where all the real details of Mi Note2 will be disclosed once and for all.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to feature a dual curved display. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will feature a 5.7-inch Super Amoled (1440x2560 pixels) display with Force Touch technology. Force Touch (or rather, 3D Touch) was first introduced by Apple on the iPhone 6S, and is a pressure sensitive display technology that Apple uses to provide additional interface options to users. The smartphone is expectd to likely to be available in 4GB of RAM/ 64GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM/ 128GB of storage. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is reported to get Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. The smartphone also expected to be powered by a 4100 mAh battery alongwith Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Based on preliminary leaks, in Xiaomi Mi Note 2 a dual camera setup is going to be introduced and it will sport two sensors at the back. The first one will be the 23 – megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor, and second one will be the 12 – megapixel Sony IMX378 sensor. It will feature a dual-tone LED Flash, support OIS, and 4K video recording. The smartphone is expected to support dual – SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and GPS.
The Mi Note 2 will support Mi Pay i.e will be NFC-enabled. There is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner integrated under the display, though we wonder if it's instead under glass but not under the display panel itself, as seen in the Mi 5s.
The Mi Note 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow – based MIUI 8. The Mi Note 2 is expected to be priced around CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,000) for the 64GB variant and around CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 28,000) for the 128GB option. In a recent leak, a Jet Black Mi Note 2 was spotted with a single camera setup at the back and sporting a dual edge screen.
With such specifications, the new Note 2 phone will give lot to think about to the the competitors of Xiaomi. But as of now, we must take this news with a pinch of salt until we bring you more solid news about this upcoming mobile phone.
