Anodizing is a fairly simple technique which is used for protecting a metal surface from undue wear and damage thereby adding a protective coating to the metal. The longevity and durability of the finish rests on how thick the coating actually is. This is basically an effective electrochemical process which helps in converting the surface of the metal into a corrosion resistant, durable, decorative and anodic oxide finish. Although it is aluminium that is most suited for anodizing, but other nonferrous metals like titanium and magnesium can be anodized as well. This process is extremely effective and strong against weathering and allows one in coloring the metal using dyes devoid of the chance of any future peeling or flaking owing to the process of electrochemical bonding. Due to the different benefits that it offers the demand for anodizing is on the rise and this in turn has popularized the color anodizing chemical manufacturers in India.

What has made the process of anodizing so popular in India?

  • Durability- the majority of the products that have been anodized possess a long life span along with offering significant economic benefits through operating savings and maintenance. Anodizing indeed is a kind of a reacted finish which is incorporated with the underlying metal (aluminium) for unmatched adhesion and total bonding

  • Color stability- today different forms of color anodizing chemicals are used in India for exterior anodic coatings that offer greater stability against the UV rays, are easily repeatable and do not peel or chip

  • Ease of maintenance- wear and scars from fabrication, installation, handling, frequent usage and surface dirt cleaning are almost non-existent. Cleaning it with water and mild soap or rinsing will work wonders in restoring the anodized area to its original form. One can also use mild abrasive cleaners for the difficult deposits

  • Cost- a cost effective initial finishing cost together with a cost effective maintenance expenditure will offer higher long term value

  • Aesthetics- the process of anodizing provides a wide array of color and gloss alternatives and eliminates or minimizes color variations. As opposed to other finishes, the anodizing process enables the metal in upholding its metallic appearance. No wonder the demand for color anodizing chemical manufacturers in India is on the rise

  • Safety and Health- this process is safe and will not be harmful for human health. The color anodizing chemicals used in India is of superior quality, is chemically stable, is heat resistant, is non toxic and will not decompose. Because anodizing is the reinforcement of an oxidizing process that is naturally occurring, obviously this is non-hazardous and thus produces no dangerous or harmful by-products.

Anodized finishes possess a good lifespan that far exceeds non-volatile coat of organic paint. As it is harder compared to powder coating it is perfect for use in heavy equipment or high traffic areas because the coating will not get damaged due to harsh chemicals or physical contact. Besides, it will also not get affected by the UV light of the sun, which is the key cause of both surface coating failure as well as damage.
