Cops in Tokyo Get Nissan 370Z NISMO Interceptors

The Japanese police have taken delivery of some specially prepared Nissan 370Z coupe models. This trio of vehicles has been specially prepared by the NISMO, Nissan’s in house performance division. As yet, it is unclear whether these revisions and preparations have included power upgrades or whether it will still be equipped with the V6 3.7 litre engine we have in our 370Z models here. If the engine has remained the same, it will provide the traffic police with a zero to 100 kilometres per hour acceleration time of just 5.2 seconds and a top speed limit of 250 kilometres per hour. Confirmed changes include RAYS 19 inch alloy wheels and larger brakes. It is also thought that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police will have requested new dampers to be tuned for the additional weight of safety equipment cop cars need to carry. A spokesperson for the Tokyo City police said that the Nissan 370Z was chosen for this role as the police wanted to have an "iconic car" for their new road safety initiatives.
