Details for the 2018 Nissan 370z Coupe for Sale Revealed
Posted: Nov 13, 2017
The Nissan 370z has been a solid performer in recent years, but petrolheads have been keenly awaiting the 2018 model. Fortunately, the wait is almost over as Nissan has released some details.
The Aesthetics:
Nissan has released some details for the Nissan 370z Coupe for sale overseas. However, it can be used as an indicator of the changes we can expect in our local market. There have been minor style changes that make the 370z look even more sporty.
What is immediately apparent from the reveal is the new rear bumper fascia, and black door handles. On closer inspection, you may notice that there is a darker tint to the new tail lights that were previously only available as an exclusive feature on the Nismo variant. The other noticeable upgrades include a new Red Metallic paint option and new 19 inch alloys.
New Clutch:
The manual 370z Coupe models have also had a clutch upgrade. Manual variants in the range will not be equipped with an Exedy clutch. This performance brand has supplied a new high performance clutch that Nissan claims will perfect the downshift and thus reduce the pedal effort of the driver.
The Powertrain:
The powertrain for the 370z range remains the same. It is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.7 litre V6 that produces 245 kW power and 363 Nm torque. The drive is directed to the rear wheels via either an automatic seven speed paddle shifter transmission or a six speed manual.
The Australian Market:
Nissan has confirmed that the flagship Nismo 370z has yet to receive these 2018 upgrades, but they have been less assertive about the fate of the Australian range. Nissan Australia has yet to confirm if the upgraded 370z will arrive in Australia in the coming months. Experts are suggesting that is only logical that similar upgrades would be applied throughout the Australian 370z range, but we haven’t had the official nod from Nissan Australia HQ.
The 2018 upgrade announcement was released shortly after the launch of the 370z Nissan here in Australia. This model has been available in overseas markets for a number of years, so it is easy to assume that we are a little behind the trend. However, overseas markets are usually a good indication of future offerings here, so we will just need to wait and see.
