Geneva is an exciting city to visit, and many people arrange Geneva airport ski transfers when they arrive in order to travel onto their chosen ski resorts. However, failing to stop and see some of the city before you leave would be a shame. There is a lot to see and do here, so if you've got a spare weekend you'd like to spend in the city, here are some of the top attractions.

Jet d’Eau

The mighty Jet d’Eau is one of the symbols of the city and is definitely one of the first things that should be on your list of "must sees" when arranging your Geneva airport ski transfers. In fact it would be quite hard to miss! This is one of the highest fountains anywhere in the world, after all, with two powerful jets pumping the water up to the incredible height of 140 metres. It's impressive from wherever you see it, but try to get up close to feel the force of the water - just be prepared to get wet.

St Pierre Cathedral

History buffs will love this cathedral, which is not only a beautiful building but also a place to find many ancient treasures that have been revealed following excavations that have taken place below it. Many of these are on display in the museum, making it another top attraction to visit when booking Geneva airport ski transfers. The cathedral dates back to 1160, so there is a lot of history to discover here - and to top it all off, there's a fabulous view from the top.

The Temple de la Madeleine

This is another religious building, and although it is not as visually impressive as the cathedral it is still significant historically, becoming important during the Protestant Reformation. It was built in the 15th century and then restored two centuries later after being damaged by fire.

The Art & History Museum

The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire is one of the best museums in the city. The impressive fine art collection is the highlight, with paintings on display by such names as Renoir and Van Gogh amongst others, and other works dating right back to the Middle Ages. It is located in the centre of the city in Les Tranchées, and you will find it housed in a large four-storey building that was built over a century ago.

Enjoy a Weekend in the Swiss Capital

This is truly a beautiful and exciting city to explore, so it is well worth taking a look around either before or after arranging Geneva airport ski transfers. You could easily spend longer than a weekend here if you wanted to, but the above attractions should keep you busy for a couple of days and allow you to see the best of the city.
