Ever since the beginning of the human evolution, there were some stark changes that took place. The human mind evolved and aspects of life that were previously missing began to take over the mind. One of the first changes that were observed was that of safety. While leather skins and mud houses protected them from the elements of nature. There was always something that was missing. The lower half of the body remains largely uncovered and there was a need to have something to cover the feet and legs. The concept of your normal casual shoes was still far away, but it was during this time that the idea of protecting the heels came into existence. It was very difficult to walk bare feet on grounds that were filled with stones and mud. Injuries related to the leg were common and people began to die of infection. This sparked the new trend of covering these essential organs so that they provided some sort of a protection. Not only protection, but people began concentrating on a design that was simple and easy to make. Skin covered footwear evolved into more complicated types of clothing designed especially for the lower half of the body.

This has not stopped ever since and the changes continue to take place even in the modern times. One key element that took the center stage other than protection was balance. There was more attention given to the way this footwear felt and handled the human body. They began to be designed to add a sense of stability so that people found it easier to walk. This was overtaken by the concept of marathons and races that people began to indulge in. The first running shoes were nothing like they are today. They were hard, flat heeled and extremely heavy to wear. The current generation of these athletic accessories is more streamlined and some of them have spikes for a much better grip. The overall weight of the average shoe has dropped to nearly half of what it used to be in the earlier days.

Today you can find these in most local outlets and even online if one may search. The manufacturing plants and the machines have allowed man to make these essential products at a pace like none before. No longer are they handcrafted. A machine or a number of machines completes the product from start to finish and this has pushed the average process to go below people’s expectations. Popular brands like the Nike running shoes however, are still rather expensive and people find it difficult to buy them.

Luckily for them, there are a number of online stores that offer massive discounts on such products. They run promotional schemes and sell them at the cost of manufacture, allowing the common man to get the best in class product for their use. This is the case even for baseball, cricket and basketball shoes that can be found at discounted rates on the internet.
