The all new Mazda 6 is a saloon car that belongs to the third generation of full featured SKYACTIV Technology

and KODO- soul of motion design range. The Mazda 6 was presented in saloon and estate options at the Paris Motor

Show last year and it has recently been awarded the CarBuyer vehicle of the year 2013 as large family car award.

The most powerful 2.2D AT diesel engine make it a power machine with 177bhp, however the 2.0L and 2.5L are other

options but both of which are petrol powered. These engines have awfully stunning performance with the CO2

emissions. The Mazda 6 has been featured with ground breaking SKYACTIV Technology that has deservedly won the What

Car? Ultra Low Carbon Award 2013. This technology combines the efficiency with the exceptional environmental

credentials without any concession in performance. Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology is an icon of performance that

shows how a fundamental reengineering delivers the real time performance.

This technology has proved it a challenger for more expensive hybrid and fully electronic configurations. The

Mazda 6 provides the drivers a celebration of pleasure with its performance and obviously its emotionally appealing

design. The engine line up starts with a choice of 143bhp and 162bhp 2.0 litre petrol engines, the most efficient

148bhp 2.2litre diesel and 177bhp 2.2litre diesel engine used in the flag ship sport model. These four cylinders

2.2D AT diesel engine has a size of 2191cc with 177bhp at 4500rpm and the torque of 310lb-ft at 2000rpm. Mazda 6

has good fuel economy of 39mpg in urban areas and 49 mpg on motorways. It has 56mpg combined economy. It has common

rail fuel system and CO2 emissions of 127gm/km. it has the top speed of 134miles per hour and the acceleration of

8.4 seconds from 0 to 62 miles.

The Mazda 6 has very smooth and excellent driving position along with the all around visibility that makes the

driving easy. Mazda 6 diesel and petrol engines are very quiet at idle and yet offer a smooth power delivery on the

road.Whatever the model you drive, when you accelerate it hard that there’s some noise from the engine and even

then it sounds sporty rather than overworked. The ride is always smooth and chassis feels supple all the time but

19-inches alloys are moderate juggler over poor roads, to overcome this problem the SE-L trim is more suitable over

the sporty models. The steering and suspension system is nicely weighted with the gear shifting and brakes to make

the Mazda 6 conventional on the twisting roads yet easy maneuvers around the city.

The automatic gearboxes are surprisingly efficient if we compare them with manual gearboxes. The Mazda 6 is

expected to achieve full five star on the Euro NACP tests because all the Mazda 6 models are equipped with stunning

safety features. It is loaded with the passenger, driver and knee airbags up front, with the curtain airbags in

full length of cabin. Mazda has also equipped their flag ship car with all new Smart City Brake Support System

(SCBS). This hi-tech safety system includes Active lighting, lane departure warning and auto brake system to

support the drivers. If this system senses the impending collision, it operates to pull the car to complete stop

between three to nineteen mph.
