Switzerland is a vibrant country which hosts an array of festivals to celebrate its snowy mountains, its culinary delicacies, its musical variety and its traditional wines. From Geneva airport, transfers can quickly take you any Swiss city, so you can explore its cultural heritage in no time!

Winter Festivals

  • World Snow Festival, Grindelwald

Nothing says winter like a gathering of the world’s best snow artists and sculptures. In mid-January, Grindelwald’s streets are decorated with brilliant white statues, celebrating winter and its snowy wonderland.

  • International Balloon Festival, Château-d’Oex

Fight the winter blues with Switzerland’s spectacular balloon festival. At the end of January, this eight day festival lights up the Alpine sky with a colourful array of close to 100 inflatables of all shapes and sizes.

Spring Festivals

  • Fasnacht, Basel

In March, Basel bursts to life with its three-day carnival. Thousands of people take to the streets in colourful costumes and beautiful masks, marching in parades. Accompanied by a wind instrument orchestra, the vibrant atmosphere creates a unique experience.

  • Classic Music Festival, Interlaken

For a little culture, why not attend Switzerland’s most important classical music event? From mid-March to mid-April, both orchestra and soloist performances fill the air of Interlaken with beautiful symphonies. With Geneva airport transfers, you could be listening to the leading international musicians in just two and a half hours.

Summer Festivals

  • Fête de la musique, Geneva

Geneva airport transfers let you celebrate the start of summer the right way: with Geneva’s fête de la musique. The streets and squares of Lausanne become the stage of musicians from all over the world. With every musical genre represented, including classical, jazz, rock and pop, you’re guaranteed to be swept up by the feel-good atmosphere.

  • Fête des Vignerons, Vevey

Taking place once every 20 years, it is Switzerland’s most unique wine festival. Between 27 July and 11 August, you can sample wines from the local Lavaux vineyards and explore a history of traditional winemaking.

Autumn Festivals

  • Autumn Festival, Lugano

At the beginning of October, Lugano host a festival to mark the end of summer. Celebrations include local food and wine tastings, as well as cheerful music. Visitors can also sample various Ticinese delicacies.

  • Fête de L’Escalade, Geneva

From Geneva airport, transfers can take you to the city centre quickly. You can be part of Geneva’s biggest event in just 20 minutes. Commemorating the Duke of Savoy’s failed attempt to seize the town, locals wear costumes and march through the streets beating drums and carrying torches. Folk music is played and there is a country market. L’Escalade will be held from 8-10 December.
