Situated at an altitude of 1600 m in the Western Ghats, Munnar is the most charming hill station in Kerala and also one of the best summer getaways in India. Also called as the Swiss of South India, Munnar was once the summer resort of the British Governors of South India and also one of the best weekend getaways from Kochi. Anamudi (2695 m), the highest peak in South India, is situated near Munnar and is considered to be one of the top trekking places in Munnar.

Photo Point

Photo Point, popularly known as Shooting Point, is a beautiful view point on Mattupetty road in Munnar. Known for its picture-perfect settings, Photo Point is an ideal spot for picnics andalso one of the top tourist places to visit in Munnar. Dense tea plantations, woods, small rivulets and undulating hills make this spot ideal for photography. These tea gardens are belongs to Kannan Devan Hills Plantations Limited owned by Tata Group and is a private property.

Mattupetty Dam

Mattupetty Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on Munnar - Top Station Highway in Munnar, Kerala. This is one of the popular places to visit in Munnar and also one of the top places most commonly represented for Munnar Tourism. The dam is surrounded by wooded hills and tea plantations, makes a great view. A speed boat ride in the waters of Mattupetty Lake is also a memorable experience. Mattupetty is also famous for its highly specialized dairy farm, an Indo-Swiss project or Livestock project.

Echo Point

Echo Point is a beautiful place situated on the backwaters of Mattupetty Dam amidst rolling hillson Munnar - Top Station Highway. This scenic place earns its name because of the natural echo that one can hear resonating in the undulating hills. Trekking and nature walks are the popular activities in this place with beautiful views of the green hills.One can also enjoy boating here.

Kundala Lake

Kundala Lake is a picturesque lake situated on the way to Top Station or Top Slip from Munnar.Surrounded by rolling hills and valleys, Kundala Lake is one of the most scenic places to visit in Munnar. The lake is formed by Kundala artificial dam or Sethuparvati Dam and is considered to be Asia’s first arch dam. The unique experience of boating in Kashmiri boats in this lake is a special attraction. A golf course which belongs to Tata Tea Ltd is also located here.

Top Station

Top Station is a breathtaking place situated on Kerala - Tamilnadu boarder. From here, one can get the panoramic view of the Western Ghats and the valley of Theni district of Tamil Nadu. This is one of the popular Munnar attractions and also a popular trail for trekking in Munnar. Top Station got its name from the fact that it was the uppermost railway station located in the Kundala Valley in Kerala. Besides scenic views, this place is also famous for the Neelakurinji flowers, which blooms once in twelve years (next flowering year is 2018).

Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam National Park is a national park located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala. Spread across an area of 97 Sq. km, it is the first national park in Kerala and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Park is home to the largest population of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. It also plays host to tigers, leopards, sloth bear, wild boar, 120 species of avifauna, a rare collection of trees, and shrubs amongst other wildlife.

Anamudi Peak

Anamudi Peak is a mountain peak situated inside the Eravikulam National Park of Kerala. Situated at a height of over 2695 m, Anamudi Peak is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and also one of the top trekking places in Munnar. Anamudi offers breathtaking views of Western Ghats and a lifetime experience with wonderful nature views. Anamudi, along with the Eravikulam National Park, is inhabited by the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr, Gaur and Asian Elephant.

Nyayamakad Falls

Nyayamakad Waterfalls, one of the highest cascading waterfalls in Kerala,is located on Munnar - Udamalpet road close to the entrance of Eravikulam National Park. It is one of the best waterfalls around Kerala and also one of the top places of sightseeing in Munnar. The water cascades down from a height of about 1500 m through rocks into a big pool. Nyayamakad is surrounded with lush green forest, which will be a perfect spot for those who love adventure and want to have a trekking experience.

Devikulam

Devikulam is a small hill station situated near Munnar town of Kerala. Located at an altitude of 1800 m, Devikulam is famous for its cascading waterfalls as well as lake where Goddess Sita is supposed to have taken a bath. There are several tea plantations in and around Devikulam that add to the charm of the hill resort. Chinnakanal Waterfall and Lock Heart Gap are the nearest attractions to Devikulam. The lush green landscapes and the high cliffs of Devikulam also provide ample scope for hiking and mountaineering.

Thoovanam Falls

Thoovanam waterfalls is a natural waterfalls located inside Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala and also one of the top visited places in Munnar. Formed over Pamba River, Thoovanam Falls is cascading down from a height of 1400 feet.
