UPSEE Counselling to begin on May 25

Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University has announced the dates of the counseling session for undergraduate admission in 900 colleges all over Uttar Pradesh. After conducting UPSEE, the administrative Board would be conducting counseling sessions in 5 rounds for about 1 lakh applicants.

About 150+ colleges are associated with this across Noida and Ghaziabad, and 800+ colleges across Uttar Pradesh. As per a meeting among the university Vice Chancellor and the admission committee, the date for the first round of counseling was finalized on May 25.

The initial round of counseling is slated to end on June 14, 2017, and the second to start with effect from June 16 to continue until May 24, 2017. The third session of the counseling is slated to begin on June 27 and would continue until July 5. The Fourth round of counseling would be beginning on July 7 and would continue until July 15. The fifth round would begin on July 17 and continue until July 21, 2017.

Spot counseling would be further pursued for applicants if still, seats stand vacant.

In the recent years, owing to a decline in the number of applicants for the exam, the UPSEE Board has decided to accept applicants of other entrance examinations.

A candidate who has appeared in the JEE Main and scored 60% in Grade 12 can also appear for counseling. The Students who appear for counseling have to be in possession of 10th and 12th-grade mark sheets, caste and domicile certificate in addition to a certificate of transfer.

The vacant seats in NRI/Management quota or vacant seats after the counseling procedure would be filled in the following order of preference, within 15 days of the final date of the counseling procedure.

1. JEE Main 2017 qualified candidates fulfilling eligibility as per the JEE Main Ranks
2. Candidates qualifying UPSEE 2017 on the basis of UPSEE Ranks.
3. A candidate who have passed the intermediate examination of the UP Board or 10+2 examination or its equivalent score from any recognized Board/university.
4. Admission to the candidates would be on the basis of merit in their 12th grade.
