Bloggers often face this problem of low traffic. Call it a human mistake or human psychology, bloggers compare their blogs with peer bloggers of same niche and often copy all the things peer blogger is using on their blog.

No one except the peer bloggers knows the right goal of the implementations. What is fruitful to them and what isn't.

Which strategy is driving them more traffic and what is helping them to keep their bounce rates low.

For this post, I’ve studied a lot of blogs and chose some of the best working inspirations which a blogger can use on its blog to drive traffic and engagement.

I’ve seen most of the bloggers use self hosted wordpress compared to blogger.com. So in this post I will consider that you are using a self hosted wordpress.

Inspirations are:

Like to unlock: This is a plugin which I found on many blogging websites which offer digital downloads. You can search it on wordpress directory with like to unlock or social unlocker.

The functionality is is same. In order to download any file like pdf, infographic, ppt etc. you have to pay for it by liking the link or following the page.

It is a valid mutual exchange.

Although some bloggers preferred to give a follow us widget below the links as an alternative to a mutual exchange.

Share buttons: Every blogger had them in their blog. Social share buttons on wordpress are free social share buttons to enable social sharing on the website. They also support multi site.

With the help of sharing buttons, visitors can easily share blog posts, infographics etc. directly, without leaving the website.

Share buttons were mostly on every blog post and images which were worth sharing, like an image with quotes, infographic or just an beautiful photograph.

Social Commenting: Most of the blogs were using disqus for enabling commenting on their blog, while some used social comments. I personally got attracted to social comments because of multiple choices to comment with.

It is one of the easiest ways to increase engagement… by decreasing efforts of visitors.

These are some of the tips which are inspired by other blogs to increase traffic on your blog.
