• In order to recruit and sponsor migrant workers in the UK, the employing organisation shall require a sponsors licence to do so. Only organisations that meet the Home Offices standards toward eligibility and suitable systems to manage their migrant workers will be granted a Sponsors Licence.

You must have all of the following to be eligible for a Tier 2 General visa:

• number a certificate of sponsorship reference
• an 'appropriate' salary
• the required level of English

TIER 1 ENTREPRENEUR VISA ( VENTURE CAPITAL STREAM ) IF:

• You are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
• You are able to make a qualified investment of GBP50,000
• You allows the Venture Capital Firm to keep a 10% equity stake in the business that the you start in the UK
• You need to create at least 2 employments
• You meet the other eligibility requirements

TIER 1 ENTREPRENEUR

The Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa is aimed at those wishing to set up, join or take over an existing UK business and in most cases making a minimum investment £200,000.

If you are switching into the Tier 1 Entrepreneur category from the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur category, or if your investment funds come from an FCA-registered venture capital firm investment or UK government department, the investment threshold is reduced to £50,000. There is different eligibility requirements depending on whether you are required to demonstrate access to £50,000 or to £200,000.

TIER 2 GENERAL

Tier 2 is the route which enables UK employers to employ nationals from outside the resident workforce to fill particular jobs which cannot be filled by settled workers. A skilled worker in any Tier 2 category must not displace a suitable settled worker.

Under Tier 2 General, you can remain in the UK for a maximum of 5 years and 14 days or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 1 month, whichever is shorter. Your stay must start no more than 14 days before the start date on your certificate of sponsorship. You can apply to extend this visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years.
