Work permit visa
- This visa is the route which enables UK employers to employ nationals from outside the resident workforce to fill particular jobs which cannot be filled by settled workers. A skilled worker in any Tier 2 category must not displace a suitable settled worker
You must have all of the following to be eligible for a General visa:
- a certificate of sponsorship reference number
- an 'appropriate' salary
- the required level of English
TIER 2 INTRA COMPANY TRANSFER
Tier 2 Intra Company Transfer (ICT) enables the UK organisation to employ and transfer skilled workers from an overseas branch to the UK. Dependant on the needs of the UK organisation, their are 4 types of Intra Company Transfer.
Long-term Staff
This visa is for transfers of more than 12 months into a role that can't be filled by a new UK recruit. You need to have worked for your employer overseas for at least 12 months.
Short-term Staff
This visa is for transfers up to and including 12 months into a role that can't be filled by a new UK recruit. You need to have worked for your employer overseas for at least 12 months.
Graduate Trainee
This visa is for transfers into graduate trainee programmes for specialist roles. You need to be a recent graduate with at least 3 months' experience with your employer overseas.
EMPLOYERS & SPONSORS
In order to recruit and sponsor migrant workers in the UK, the employing organisation shall require a sponsors licence to do so. Only organisations that meet the Home Offices standards toward eligibility and suitable systems to manage their migrant workers will be granted a Sponsors Licence.
To apply for a Sponsor Licence companies must prove that
- They are a genuine organisation operating lawfully in the UK.
- Their Key Personnel named on the application are honest, dependable and reliable
- They are aware of and capable of carrying out their sponsor duties ie they have appropriate human resources and recruitment systems and practices in place
- They are offering genuine employment that meets the Tier 2 (General) skill level and appropriate rates of pay.
