For many, finding a favourite winter resort is more than just looking for the perfect ski chalet. La Tania has many great features, which is why people just keep coming back. After all, it’s the perfect hideaway.

There are so many things to love about this cosy, welcoming resort. From the vehicle-free streets that are perfect for daily strolls, to the city centre, to the homey comfort given by many a chocolate-box ski chalet, La Tania is the perfect home away from home.

Here are just a few of the reasons people love going back to this charming place.

The Skiing

Although people have various reasons for heading to this little piece of paradise—perhaps to write, paint, or just relax inside their ski chalet—La Tania is primarily a resort made for skiing, which is undeniably exceptional here. With its own local black, red, blue, and green runs, in addition to those available in nearby Courchevel and the other parts of the Three Valleys, its pistes are particularly well-groomed and freshly powdered, even on sunny days. What’s more, one local lift pass provides you access to a wide range of pistes, allowing for enjoyable skiing for any and all levels of skill and ability.

The Village

Located within walking distance of many a ski chalet, La Tania village’s small and charming centre offers many pleasures. The tourist office, located conveniently in the centre, provides brochures, maps, and even advice on where the best attractions are—including tips for when to go and what to do when you get there.

For those who want to stay indoors, the resort also has a cinema that shows new features, a spa and sauna, a post-office, as well as a leisure centre with indoor pool. In addition, despite its size, the town also has wide choice places for doing a bit of shopping. Whether it's supermarkets for groceries, boutiques and specialty shops for your other, non-perishable needs, or ski shops that can provide you with all the gear and equipment you need to master the slopes, it's all within easy reach.

The Food

Despite its size, this resort town is proud of its many fine-dining establishments. There are plenty of different choices for dining out for every taste, occasion, and budget. For those whose discriminating tastes demand gourmet meals and Michelin stars, Julien Machet’s Le Farcon offers top-notch meals at tourist-friendly prices, including a quick lunch for those who want to get back to the slopes as soon as possible. Tim Hall’s La Taiga is also a great choice for those looking for high end, yet value-for money lunches and dinners. If you want to have the real après ski dining experience, head on out to the Pub Le Ski Lodge, which is very budget friendly; Le Bouc Blanc, on top of the gondola; or La Ferme de La Tania, which offers many Savoyard specialties.
