Posted: Jul 21, 2017
Paper cups or glasses are being extensively used in public spaces because they are biodegradable and are not harmful to environment. These cups or glasses are capable of saving water as they do not have to be washed for re-usage like other utensils.
The idea of using eco-friendly paper cups came into existence during the year 1907 after Lawrence Lullen invented Dixie cup. Although, paper cups are better than plastic cups, they are difficult to recycle. They have a wax coating to increase their durability but this coating makes the process of recycling paper cups tedious. However plastic cups are non-biodegradable but they can be easily recycled unlike paper cups . They can be used for both hot and cold beverages. They are convenient to use because they are lighter and are less expensive as compared to disposable cups.
It should be made from recyclable materials so that they become the best and safest option for protecting environment and also helps us to ‘go-green’. Recycled paper cups, will save a lot of energy by eliminating the need of getting new raw materials. Recycling of paper cups will also reduce unnecessary waste dumped in landfills. Despite being recyclable, both paper and plastic cups are not getting recycled because people are not aware about the processes involved in either producing such cups or glasses or recycling them.
Treating environment with negligence has led to degradation of fertile lands and global warming. But, people often think that environmental management is not required and being eco-friendly becomes a formality for them. Still, there are many companies and non-governmental agencies who are promoting Eco-friendly Products because they are promoting a socially and ecologically aware corporate culture. Greenhandle is a trailblazer and eco-friendly firm which is redefining the realm of packaging industry. It is helping us to ‘go green’. By offering us such cups with no gusset, it has made the process of recycling a paper cup easier. These eco-friendly are cost-effective and are creatively designed.
These cups are non toxic in nature. Thus, using it is a healthier and hygienic practice. It can be carried anywhere due to its lightness.
