Marakesh, Morocco

Head straight to the Medina and you will experience an assault on the senses, with loud calls to prayer echoing from its central Koutoubia Mosque (5 times daily), and exotic smells coming from its spice bazaars and cafes that serve fresh mint tea and sticky pastries throughout the day. Alternatively, visit the modern Gueliz district of the city and you will experience a creative enclave of galleries and ambitious new art spaces, especially along Rue de Yougoslavie.
