Samsung Galaxy Note 8 can pre-registrations in India

The Galaxy Note 8 is available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Deep Sea Blue and Maple Gold colour variants.
Samsung has finally announced the successor its ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 at an Unpacked event in New York. Dubbed as Galaxy Note 8, the device comes loaded with the bezel-less Infinity display along with dual rear cameras, iris scanner, and more. The asus replacement parts comes with a price tag of $930 (approx. Rs 59,561) in the US and £869 (approx. Rs 72,000) in the UK. Further, the Galaxy Note 8 is available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Deep Sea Blue and Maple Gold colour variants.
Interestingly, Samsung India site has created a dedicated page for the pre-registrations of the smartphone, though the company is yet to announce the pricing and launch of the Galaxy Note 8. The page contains some generic information, which one need to fill like his/her name, email address, mobile number and pin code. After that one needs to answer a question, which has a set of answers to choose from. Users can select multiple options as well. In order to finish the registration process, one needs to accept company’s privacy policy and enter the Captcha code.
What is the price for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8?
The company has revealed the US and UK pricing of the latest phablet. Starting with the US, the device will be available in Midnight Black and Orchid Gray colour options. It will be available in stores beginning on September 15, 2017, at major carriers and at company’s official website, Best Buy, Target and Walmart. The unlocked version is priced at $930, while T-Mobile is offering at $30 per month on T-Mobile Equipment Installment Plan. Version Wireless is selling the device at $960 in full retail or $40 for 24 months. AT&T is offering the device at the same price point for retail and $31.67 per month for 30 months.
Further, customers who opt for the device from August 24, 2017, to September 24, 2017, will get a free Samsung Gear 360 camera or a special kit with Samsung 128 EVO+ memory card and fast wireless charging convertible.
Coming to the UK, the phone will be available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold from multiple retailers and carriers like Vodafone, Three UK, Sky, Virgin, Carphone Warehouse and EE. Users who pre-order the device will get a Samsung DeX station.
What are the key features and specifications?
To start with, the major highlight of the smartphone is the dual rear cameras. This is the first Samsung device to come equipped with a dual-camera setup. The phone sports a combination of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens, with both sporting optical image stabilization (OIS). The wide-angle lens comes with aperture f/1.7, 1.4-micron pixel size, 77-degree field of view.
The telephoto lens comes loaded with aperture f/2.4, 2x optical zoom, up to 10x digital zoom. The camera is equipped with different modes including Live focus, food mode, pro mode, panorama and slow motion. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with autofocus, f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens.
The Galaxy Note 8 features a new S-Pen, which comes with some interesting features like Samsung notes, live message, smart select, Bixby vision, screen off memo + pin to AOD. The S-Pen tip is just 0.7mm and it has 4096 pressure levels. The pen also comes with IP68 protection.
The Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Infinity display with a screen resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels, 522ppi and 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The asus parts comes with IP68 certification, which makes it dust and water resistant.
Moving to the hardware front, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is only meant for the US. There is also a variant that comes loaded with company’s in-house Exynos 8895 chipset. The phone is backed by a 6GB of RAM and comes in three storage variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card.
The device runs on latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is juiced up by a 3300mAh battery with fast charging support on both wired and wireless. On the connectivity front, the device supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, MST and hybrid dual-SIM.
For security, the company has added iris scanner, facial recognition and fingerprint sensor, which is situated on the back panel. The device also comes loaded with Knox protection and it is equipped with company’s in-house virtual Assistant Bixby. The device measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm and weighs 195g.
