The life of a broadcast engineer is a tough work sphere as they have to constantly be involved with the broadcast systems integration and manage the Broadcasting system on day to day basis; they have to work on the technical aspects of broadcasting system like the AM radio and FM radio broadcasting technology. Their role is also to measure the strengths of the AM and the weaknesses of the AM and the FM radio waves which comes from the broadcast towers, they also check the approximate frequency range.

The broadcast engineer also works on the telecommunication site or broadcasting site, works with the RF amplifiers, broadcasting equipments, telecommunication devices apart from receiver systems and transmitter, prevents the failure of RF system. The broadcast engineer must possess the following qualifications:

  1. Have working experience and handle latest technological broadcasting equipments of the radio and television media
  2. Comprehension of the radio frequency waves
  3. Understand the wired and wireless device practices
  4. Work with the receiver device, transmitter device and be familiar with the broadcast integration and automation system
  5. Take charge of the video broadcasting and audio broadcasting equipments

They also should take charge of working overtime and handle any aspect of technical and operational practices and handle any emergency situations.
