Renowned for its sparkling beaches and historical forts, Alibaug is a beautiful coastal town situated in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Often referred as Goa of Maharashtra, Alibaug is one of the top weekend getaways from Mumbai and also one of the best places to visit near Pune. Alibaug Beach

Located along the coast of the Arabian Sea, Alibaug Beach is a picturesque beach in Alibaug and also one of the top places to visit in Alibaug. Well known for its clean coastline, it is considered as the main beach of the town. This is one of the most popular beaches in Maharashtra with the sight of Kolaba Fort providing the perfect view during sunset. The beach is famous for its picturesque sceneries of sunrise and sunset. Leisure walk, sunbathing, and riding in the six seated horse driven buggies are the most ideal activities in Alibaug Beach.

Kaloba Fort/Alibaug Fort

Built by Shivaji Maharaj, Kolaba Fort is an old military fort situated in the Arabian Sea near the shores of Alibag in Maharashtra and is one of the popular places to visit in Alibaug. The fort has 25 feet high strong fortified walls with 17 bastions for defensive fire at the time of any enemy attack. Made with enormous stone blocks, the fort has two main entrances one facing the sea and the other towards Alibaug. There are several wells inside the fort that supplied fresh water to its residents. Also known as Alibaug Fort, the fort complex enclosed with temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Mahishasura, Goddess Padmavatiand HajiKamaluddin ShahDargah. The fort can be easily accessed by waking through the waters in low tides and a short boat ride during high tides.

Akshi Beach

Sandwiched between Nagaon Beach and Alibaug Beach, Akshi Beach is a stunning beach located in Alibaug. Known for its peaceful enveronment, it is one of the famous places to visit in Alibaug and also among the best beaches in Maharashtra. It is a beautiful white sand beach with Suru trees dotting the coast. Akshi Beach is an ideal for those who are seeking quietness and solitude. The water is clean and ideal for swimming. One can see the Kulaba Fort and Alibag at a distance from the beach. Akshi beach is frequented by huge number of tourists as variety of birds and different flora can be seen at the beach.

NagaonBeach

Along the coast of Arabian Sea, Nagaon Beach is a lovely beach in Alibaug. Dotted with the subtle greenery of palms, betel, and suru trees, Nagaon Beach is a 3 km long flat beach with soft fine mixture of white and black sand. It is a quiet and secluded beach compared to Alibaug and Kashid Beach. The beach is hub for many water sports activities like Parasailing, Motor boat rides, Jet skies, Banana rides and much more. The beach is safe for swimming and boating due to its flat surface. The beach also offers ample number of beach resorts and private bungalows wherein one can catch the magnificent sunset.

Mandwa Beach

Situated at Mandwa Village, Mandwa Beach is a serene beach near Alibaug. With the mesmerizing view of the sunset, the beach is isolated with crowd and pollution. As the beach is a famous destination for water sports activities around Mumbai and Pune, the beach attracts large numbers of tourists and one of the best places to visit near Pune.Kayaking, Jet Ski, Banana tube ride, Water Scooters etc. are several water sports activities.

Varsoli Beach

Situated in the outskirts of Alibaug, Varsoli is a beautiful beach situated at Varsoli village and is one of the gorgeous places to visit in Alibaug. The beach is 2 km long and is more beautiful than Alibaug Beach. Dotted with coconut and casuarina trees, one can also enjoy the white sand and clean water. Considered as one of the popular places to visit near Pune, the beach offers many water sports activities and the spectacular view of sunset. It is a less crowded beach and is suitable for a peaceful vocation.
