Event planning is nothing less than an immensely exciting career which comes with a lot of diversity. You can either choose to organize social events or might put your expertise to use to coordinate corporate events. Most of the times, people fail to find the difference between the various kinds of event planning and seek to know what makes one different from the other.

Irrespective of how closely related wedding planning and corporate event planner in Miami might seem to be, there are some evident differences between the two. The responsibilities of the two often overlap with one offering the services for the other one too but this doesn’t eliminate the dissimilarities.

Here are some of the differences highlighted between a wedding planner and a business event planner in Miami or anywhere else:

Focus

A wedding coordinator in Miami or anywhere else will focus entirely on arranging wedding ceremonies. They have the same skill set as that of any other kind of planner but they tailor it according to the specific requirements of weddings. Wedding planning is actually an intricate process and involves a lot of emotions instead of business motives. The idea behind wedding planning is to make the day special for the two people so that it becomes a wonderful part of their memories.

On the other hand, a business event planner needs to organize such an event which will hike the reputation of the company and will bring in more clients, customers, and profits. They are required to portray a great image of the organization so that it can create a strong reputation in the market for itself. The event is more of a marketing strategy for the company and doesn’t hold any emotional significance.

Duties

In wedding planning, you sit with the couple and make some of the most important decisions pertaining to the budget and overall arrangement of the wedding. From the ceremony to the reception, a wedding coordinator is responsible for negotiating with the vendors. They are involved in the décor, catering, and make the necessary arrangements for the entertainment of the guests.

Business events are totally different because, first of all, a huge number of people are involved. The arrangement is not for a few hundred but for thousands including the employees, clients, and potential customers who will be in attendance. The arrangement should also meet the health and safety standards so that no unpleasant situation takes place. An alternative plan in the case of an emergency is also a necessity and the business event planner in Miami or any other state is responsible for overlooking it.

These events are closely related because both involve catering, providing entertainment equipment, arranging for the parking space, and monitoring that the entire event is carried out smoothly. However, this doesn’t make the duties of a wedding coordinator in Miami and that of a business planner in the same state or any other one similar.
