F&L Designer Guides’ List Of ‘Proposals For All Seasons’

It is a widely known fact that, when the subject is proposal ideas or inspiration, opinions tend to differ vastly. Some may be apologists of the traditional down-on-one-knee accompanied by a romantic dinner, while others might think that proposing while on a rollercoaster ride, swimming with dolphins or a romantic camping trip by a lake are better options. It is also generally acknowledged that this question does not really have a right or wrong answer; it is really down to personal taste.

The same, to a certain extent, can be said of the right season to propose in. Ask around and you will certainly find supporters of all four of them, each with their own perfectly valid arguments as to why ‘their’ season is better than the others. This can, in turn, lead to some indecision and confusion amidst couples who may not be entirely sure of what type of proposal they want to go for.

If you and your partner find yourselves in such a position, you may appreciate the following few paragraphs. In this piece, we at F&L Designer Guides give you tips and suggestions for proposals in all of the four seasons. Whichever time of year you are thinking of proposing in, we have you covered.

Spring

This is the most common time of year for people to propose to one another, and here at F&L Designer Guides we can definitely see why. Perhaps it’s the stunning blossoming of the spring flowers, the wakening of the beautiful butterflies or just the welcome sign of sunshine, but there is something about spring that attracts cheer and positivity. Proposals at this time of year are regarded to be the easiest, primarily because people are generally more upbeat after winter is over, are in a more cheerful mind-set and are looking forward to the year ahead. Romantic activities, such as picnics or leisurely boat rides are also an integral part of spring, and coupled with the perfect scenery and the right backdrop they can lead to a very successful proposal.

Summer

Here at F&L Designer Guides, we speculated about why the summer months are not more popular for proposals. We think that maybe it is because it gets too hot and that the heat spoils most people’s motivation to put in the effort. Perhaps people would rather wait until autumn when it’s a bit less stifling? Those who are not affected by the heat, however, will appreciate the suggestion of a summer proposal on a tropical island or beach holiday, preferably in a romantic location. Popping the question at a waterpark or theme park is also a good option for this time of year.

Autumn

Autumn can also be a very romantic season, with all the leaves turning brown, the sun lower in the sky casting that familiar golden light, and the crisp, sunny days that are so synonymous with this season. Why not take the chance to wrap up warm and cosy and propose to your partner on a walk in the park or over a cosy cup of coffee after a day of fun?

Winter

Winter is probably our favourite season for proposals here at F&L Designer Guides, and so much so that we wrote an entire list of suggestions for a winter proposal. If you did not happen to read that, however, some of the favourite suggestions included creating your own private winter wonderland, taking your partner for a forest sleigh ride, booking a winter holiday, or simply heading out to an open air ice skating rink.

As you can see, then, it is easy to come up with a creative and romantic way to propose, regardless of the time of year. Just remember that every season has its attractive elements.
