The busiest airport in the world, Dubai International Airport is worth a visit alone, but a world of wonders awaits you outside its walls. Whether you're just a few hours or a night away, here's everything you need to know to make your Dubai stopover as enjoyable as possible.

First, how do I reserve a stopover?Including a break in Dubai during your trip could not be simpler. If you are traveling to Dubai or are in transit with Emirates, it is very easy to book a 'Dubai Stopover package'. With this package, the Emirates company takes care of everything: they arrange your reception from the airport, and organize your continuous recording, your visits, your excursions and much more. Once your flight is booked, you must contact your local Emirates office or travel agent to add your stopover.

I just landed, can I still book a package? If you have just arrived and would like to explore Dubai before continuing to your next destination, this is entirely possible. Visit the "Hotels and Visas for Dubai" counter at the Dubai International Airport Arrivals to find out about the options available to you. More information here.

How long is the journey to and from the airport?

Dubai International Airport is conveniently located in the center of the city. Depending on where you go, allow between 15 and 35 minutes for the majority of your trips in town. From the airport, a journey to the city center takes about 15 minutes by car, while it will take you 30 minutes to get to the Marina. Old Dubai Shore Excursions is 15 minutes away by taxi, Kite Beach is 25 minutes away.

You can also take the Dubai Metro directly from the airport. Trains depart from Terminals 1 and 3 every 10 minutes from 5:50 am until midnight (note that times vary on weekends).
