Boarding an RV trailer to explore the continental unknowns? It’s fun, thrilling, adventurous—also tiring.

The long commutes and the wild explorations can eventually take a toll on the boarded RVers.

As such, sound sleep after the eventful day is what every RVer seeks for. Some sleep through the moments while others are found turning and tossing on their RV mattress. Consequently, the next day, the nocturnal wake up bedraggled and disgruntled.

The RV vacation slowly turns into a nightmare, with no night’s sleep and plenty of activities in the wake.

For those of you planning to go on an RV vacation, here is list of tips—divided into shopping and on-vacation tips—that would help you sleep better in an RV, making your vacation worthwhile.

Shopping Tips Tip #1: Board on with the Right RV Mattress

Having the right RV mattress before getting on board is important. What makes a mattress the right RV mattress?

One that is not oddly sized, has been designed to provide circulation, and is soft yet firm.

Tip #2: Get a Sleep Mask

While shopping around, just before setting out on their RV vacation, you should also consider buying a sleep mask. They are cheap and will help filter out excess light to promote a good night’s sleep.

Tip #3: Buy Some New Pillows and Mattress Sheets

You don’t have to use the same old pillows and mattress sheet for your RV vacation that you use in your home. Buy some new pillows and mattress sheets to go along with your new RV mattress, for a comfortable night’s sleep.

On-Vacation Tips Tip #1: You Need to Choose a Site that is Peaceful

This may not be possible in all cases, but where possible, choose a site that is quiet. Look at places that are further away from campgrounds.

Tip #2: Try Not to Expose Yourself to Any Screen At least One Hour Before the Planned Sleep Schedule

Switch off the TV and keep away the mobile phone, at least one hour before you plan to get in bed. Rays from screens can disturb your sleeping pattern.

Tip #3: Fully Extend the Jacks to Level Off Your RV

For a good night’s sleep, it is important that the RV supporting jacks are fully extended to keep the platform stabilized. Otherwise, RVers may find the trailer continuously jostling around, on the slightest of movements. It can prevent you from getting a good night’s sleep.
