Who wants to take advantage of Valentine’s Day and elope with their loved one for the weekend? You do not really need a special day to surprise your loved one with a mini-holiday in a romantic city. The following destinations are always one of the most romantic destinations, being the top European cities to visit if you are a romantic, and not only.

Paris, France

Paris is a beautiful city where you can spend unforgettable moments with your loved one. Climb the Eiffel Tower and admire the sunset together or walk hand in hand through the Tuileries Gardens, one of the oldest gardens in Paris, situated on the banks of the Seine, which has its origins in the 16th century, or relax at a picnic in the green grass or stop to enjoy a coffee and a croissant at one of the many cafes in Paris. Paris will always be one of the top European cities to visit for a romantic getaway.

You can also choose to climb the steps of the Sacre Coeur Basilica or you can visit the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, but it is mandatory you do not forget from your itinerary the Louvre Museum, which is one of the largest and most visited museums in the world where you can admire the Mona Lisa. Also, do not forget to go to the Opera in Paris and unwind by listening to classical opera or watching ballet shows.

Prague, Czech Republic

Anyone who has spent even just a holiday in Prague can confirm you that you will fall head over heels in love with this city. The atmosphere of the city is overwhelmingly beautiful and you will only realize this by taking a glimpse at it yourself! The many cobblestone streets, churches and roofs help create an image of a city - fortress on the edge of a hill. By now, you can probably imagine princesses and kings of Bohemia horseback riding on the city streets.

If you are passionate about art and culture, Prague will certainly be the winner, every time. The city is packed with galleries and museums, but it can also boast a rising music scene. There are musical performances for all tastes played throughout the year, from summer festivals to opera and ballet shows during the autumn and winter.

Prague keeps its charm all year round, but the city will definitely put a spell on you during the winter time. You will forget all your problems and you will be filled with the magic of the holidays when you see the colorful and full of joy Christmas markets, making it one of the top European cities to visit, especially during the winter holidays.
