The 13 card Rummy played in RummyCircle by more than 5 million users, can be called as the mother of all online games in India. For those who aspire to play this game online, here is the detailed outlook on how it is played.

  1. This 13-card game requires two to six players to join and play with two or more packs of 53 cards each including a printed joker.
  2. Each player gets to hold random 13 cards dealt by a dealer (who also is one of the participants of the game).
  3. The objective of the game is to form at least two sequences, one of which should be a pure life. The remaining cards can be used to form sequences / sets.
  4. A sequence is nothing but a formation of consecutive cards of the same suit and it is divided into two types. A sequence formed without the usage of printed or random joker is called a pure sequence and when it is formed with a joker card it is called an impure sequence. A set is a formation of the cards of the same value with different suits.
  5. A card is randomly selected at the beginning of the game to play the role of a random joker. If the random card so selected happens to be a printed joker, then Ace of any suit can be used as a wild card to replace any card to form sequences/sets.
  6. After the cards are dealt the remaining cards are kept face down in the closed deck and one card face up in the open deck.
  7. Each player is required to pick up a card from either the open deck or a closed deck and discard one in the open deck.
  8. When the cards are cumbersome to form a Rummy and you drop the game at the beginning of the game, it is called as a first drop and when you are dropping it after making a few moves, it is called a middle drop.
  9. The first preference should be given to form pure sequence without which any arrangement cannot be called as a valid declaration.
  10. A player who formed the sequences and sets in conformance to the objective of the game is eligible to declare the game by pressing the declare button.
  11. Upon declaration, the declared Rummy goes for validation where the authenticity of the formation of sequences/sets is validated.
  12. If the declared Rummy turns out invalid, then the player who resorted to it is penalised with 80 points.
  13. For the winner, the points lost by the other players get added to him.

This is how the 13-card game is played online. Sounds simple isn’t it!
