To be employed in the US, overseas nationals will require a work visa. There are many kinds of work visas for overseas immigrants who intend to work abroad in the US. These include Temporary work permit visa, seasonal work permits, and exchange worker permits.

You can obtain the US Work Visa from the nearest US Consulate or Embassy to your residence in your home nation.

Green Cards:

Overseas immigrants can obtain a Green Card or Permanent Residency in the US through an offer of employment or job. The US also has a lottery program that offers a specific number of Green cards to applicants who are successful.

A certification from the US Department of Labor is required in some cases. This is to demonstrate that there are no adequate local workers in the US to take up the job. It must also be proved that no worker in the US is being displaced by hiring the immigrant worker.

Diversity Immigrant Visa Program:

This is an annual green card lottery. It is an opportunity for qualified immigrants to obtain the permanent residency status in the US. Every year the number of green cards offered through this program is 50,000. The applicants are randomly selected through a lottery. Free and online registration is available for this program. The eligibility for the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is limited to select nations.

H-2B visas or Non-Agricultural Temporary Work Visas:

It includes amusement parks, beach resorts, hotels, and Ski Mountains. There is an annual cap of 66,000 for these visas.

The US H1-B visas are non-immigrant visas for skilled overseas workers working in specialized jobs. These visas permit an overseas national to provisionally work for a particular employer in the US. Immigrants who intend to qualify for this visa must possess an employer-employee relationship. They must also be working in a specific job that is in demand in the US. Their salary must also be higher than the existing wages for that job. There is an annual cap of 65,000 for these visas.
