Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018): higher-end colors for the A-series?

Samsung is expected to unveil in a few weeks at least two terminals for the series A. Terminals that will, as previous generations, go upmarket. And not only in technical terms, but also cosmetic.

Many rumors evoke the upcoming arrival of the 2018 generation Samsung Galaxy A. The majority of them focus on the ergonomic aspects of the terminals: the integration of an Infinity Display panoramic screen, deportation of the fingerprint reader on the back of mobiles with a location not quite similar to that of the Galaxy S8, etc.

Three colors for the A series (2018)

It reveals the list of colors that will be used by Samsung to dress the Galaxy A8 (2018), which will replace the Galaxy A5 (2017) logically and whose serial number is SM-A530 (the number that we have already cited in our columns on the occasion of other rumors). The three colors are black, gold and gray orchid.

These are three dresses inherited from the high-end series of Samsung, including the gray orchid that pulls slightly towards the iridescent purple. Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 are both available in this color. You can also see above the Galaxy S8 in gray orchid. The Galaxy A8 (2018), which should be closer to a "lite" version of this flagship, will certainly look like that. It is also likely that these three colors also concern the Galaxy A8 + (2018), which should be the replacement of the Galaxy A7 (2017).

Upmarket

Samsung has always presented the Galaxy A as a more economical gateway to its catalog than the Galaxy S while offering a grip and a similar user experience. In fact, the Galaxy A are all inspired Galaxy S, as well as their design, materials, and services offered. The fact that the colors of the Galaxy A (2018) are those of Galaxy S 2017 is very logical and participates in the impression of upscale.

Of course, we are wondering what the 2018 Series A models will look like in the last year's S Series, in addition to the colors, the location of the fingerprint reader and the panoramic screen. Previous leaks claimed that the Bixby button would be part of the game, for example. We would obviously have hoped that this upscaling visible on the outside is also expressed inside the terminals. Because, even if the Exynos 7880 is a good midrange chipset, it still does not reach the height of a Snapdragon 630 and even less a Snapdragon 660. We expect improvements in this area.
