You can use another feature of it, i.e. adding and verifying a domain to be used by multiple users. While verifying a domain in Microsoft Office 365, you may receive the below mentioned message, which indicates that an error has occurred:

"We can't verify the domain because it is associated with another Microsoft hosted service. A domain can be associated with only one service. To use this domain, first remove it from the other service, and then try again to verify the domain."

Cause of this error

This error may occur due to any of the following reasons:

  • The domain you are trying to verify already exists in another Microsoft cloud services. For instance, this domain is already available in Live@edu
  • The domain you are trying to verify is federated with Microsoft Exchange Online
