As for the online-only sound chip, it’s not clear whether the six available sounds will be based on the human language-speaking Meowth seen in the TV show. We’re willing to find out, though, because this Meowth is dang cute. It’s no Charmander or Pikachu, but it’s close.

The company announced today that six limited-edition Pikachu would be available to play for free in the coming weeks to celebrate Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You!. The same limited-edition Pikachu were released earlier this year in Japan.

In a pokemon online games press release, Build-A-Bear Workshop was clear to mention that the Team Rocket hoodie wouldn’t come to stores at any point. Instead, fans can buy a Quick Ball-styled hoodie for $12.50 both online and at the physical Workshop locations.

As for those parallel universes: They may have been oversold by the games’ marketing. It’s kind of exciting to leap through wormholes populated by random legendary Pokemon, but they’re otherwise barren. A new area accessible on the other side of these wormholes also feels lacking, mostly serving the purpose of giving the big climactic boss battle an appropriate stage.

Pokemon Mega is neither very different from each other, nor from last year’s pokemon online rpg. It’s worth highlighting the exclusive content that both games do have, however — especially if you’re trying to decide if checking them out after beating Pokemon Mega is worth your while.

Bulbasaur and Squirtle become Ash’s close allies, choosing not to evolve throughout the course of his travels as they prefer to take on other, less action-oriented roles. Charmander, however, begins its journey as a heartbreakingly abused and abandoned Pokemon. Ash scoops him up, and they forge a bond that still makes me cry to this day. (I sobbed in the theater as the movie retold this storyline.)
